If you are looking for a fancy hotel with great service, outstanding location and an acceptable, albeit expensive, room rate, then this a good bet. The rooms are all renovated. The service is highly competent and the location is just great near Opera and all the shopping and tourist attractions.

This beautiful hotel is located very near the original Opera House which is now used mainly for dance performances. Don't confuse this place with the new opera house. In the lobby area is a wonderful little cafe for coffee, drinks, food. Down one level is a fabulous breakfast buffet. If you are in a rush, they set pastries and croissants... More

The best staff anywhere! The room was fantastic, the location worked really well for us. They made us feel like Royalty. The buffet breakfast was included and it was really good with lots of options. We would definitely stay there again!

Nice location in Opera district. Hotel nicely decorated, room was nice but not large. Bathroom and toilet room were completely separate, making hand washing awkward. Not much space for personal belongings (no closet, just a wardrobe in the wall), no place to hang towels. The breakfast service was way below average. Two mornings in a row, the staff seemed overwhelmed... More

The best part of this hotel for me is the location and the staff. Both were fantastic. Located just down the road from the Opera with easy access to all the major Parisien attractions. The staff were attentive and multi-lingual. Lobby area is welcoming with a quirky tea shop at the entrance and a restaurant and bar next to reception.... More

We spent three nights here in May. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and there's much to commend the hotel: an elegant lobby, many amenities and nice touches (umbrellas my the front door were helpful since it rained every day). Our room was small, but well-appointed with a comfortable bed and nice linens. The bathroom was quite small: dominated... More

The Hotel Scribe is in perhaps the best location in Paris. Despite being in the middle of the main shopping district (one block from the Opera) the transportation connections are wonderful. The hotel has excellent public areas, and a good spa. Superlative service at all times from all reception staff, the concierge, barman, and main restaurant waiters -- efficient, discreet,... More

The front staff is very energetic, good at English, and has a sense of humor. The bed was so good and took my fatigue away while just lying on it.Clean, modern rooms with tea and coffee making facilities- important for us who like a hot cup of something in the morning/evening. Also comes with complimentary water and soft drinks in the... More

The concierge was really good, and so were the reception staff. The room was very good. We stayed there over a weekend and it seemed they are not 5 star on weekends, just Monday to Friday. The house keeping standards dropped, whether that's normal for Paris I don't know, however I thought 5 star meant 5 star everyday. Breakfast was... More

A one night stay as part of a river cruise package. A magnificent hotel in an upmarket area in Paris.Close to many famous name stores, restaurants, cafes, bars and attractions. I was only able to explore the area one afternoon but had lots of fun doing so. My room was large, well appointed and the bed was the best I've... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
