We have returned to the Scribe Hotel for the third time in two years. We love it! We have stayed in many hotels in Paris and always return here. We can't really fault it. We stay in a massive junior suite that is very reasonably priced compared to other hotels. As a member of the Accor loyalty program we receive... More

The Hotel Scribe is a lovely place to stay when visiting Paris. The room was on the fifth floor and was of a reasonable size. It was clean, modern and bright. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and a pillow selection option was available. The bathroom was spacious and well appointed, with stylish decor. There was a shower outlet over... More

The Scribe is a wonderful hotel in the centre of Paris. The hotel is very old and and has a great history as the location of the first public viewing of moving pictures. The staff are very accomplished with good spoken English. The Concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful. The rooms were generous in size and well appointed. The bathrooms... More

We were looking for a fairly centrally located hotel for under $1000 euros per nite. Splurging a bit for my 50th bday celebration. Hotel Scribe was perfect! The staff was friendly and attentive. The concierges were knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We were offered the option to upgrade (for a nominal charge) to a huge two bedroom suite because our room... More

I arrived at this hotel spoiled by some incredible properties in Sicily, so I was tough to please. The rooms are on the smaller side, that's true, but not for Paris. I suggest booking up one category so that you'll get slightly more space. The location is good, the staff accommodating, the wifi fast. What's kind of a bummer --... More

Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed. Since we arrived early and our room was not ready, had lunch and then got to room. Room was not large but well appointed and quiet for Paris. Staff was most helpful during stay, especially when my husband became ill and medical help was needed. Manuel Dein was superb. Kudos also to the concierge... More

from Paris. I dont stay at the Scribbe Hotel, but take the afternoon tea there, a few years ago. I was two days in aris for Bulgari "save the childrens" and to shop a ring. Not interesting. But, i visit Montmartre and the Galeries Lafayette. The Scribe Hotel is there, a few minutes food walk. Rue(street) Scribe, Paris. I think that... More

After staying at Hotel Scribe for 5-6 times in the past 9 months, I have to say enough is enough. I will not return to Hotel Scribe in future trips in Paris. I was fairly impressed after my first stay at the hotel and I have returned there every time for the following 9 months. However the quality has recently... More

The Hotel Scribe is but a block from the Opera Garnier--really a great location. Furthermore, I must say that the staff are very accommodating, and the hotel, although so nicely located, is quite quiet. Breakfast was included in our package, and I have to say that among the possible offerings were really excellent omelettes. The only negative is that the... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
