Some poor reviews worried me, as we had booked 14 family members in 3 apts. Adagio Montmartre was what we wanted: local neighborhood/ambiance, convenient groceries/cafes/metro, Sacre Coeur a block away!

I stayed there with my husband and dayghter for a long weekend in a studio for 3 persons. It was a bedroom with a sofa/bed and an double bed (2 single beds pushed together) and a dining table, a w.c.,bathroom, a kitchen and a locker room. The location of the hotel is good it is near the Sacré cœur and... More

On a business trip to Paris my colleague and I got caught up in the Eurostar debacle when the ferry strikers set fire to the Chunnel tracks causing the complete shutdown of tunnel so the Eurostar service was suspended until the following day. The knock-on effect was that the hotels were being booked up rapidly. We finally were accommodated at... More

I rarely write a critical review but I have now found the opportunity. The room did not feel clean as there were stains and marks on the bathroom walls and doors. The floor did not feel clean to walk on. Beds made in one of a three night stay. Don't know what made that day different. Yes, the reviews are... More

After 2 weeks inter-railing around Europe we had planned to finish in our favourite city, Paris. We love Montmartre and so decided to stay at the Adagio as an aparthotel sounded perfect for a base to explore the city from. Unfortunately it didn't quite live up to expectations as it was extremely basic and our kitchen only had a very... More

We arrived early December 2014 -winter Paris. The apartment hotel was easy enough to get to and the staff were friendly and helpful and mostly spoke English. The room we were put into had an appalling view of a building site and was icy cold. There was a tiny spiral staircase up to the bathroom and the main bedroom. We... More

Just returned from staying here for 5 days with husband and 2 children. I was apprehensive given some of the negative reciews but we were delighted. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment for my wife and I and two children. First of all only one person with a case can fit in the lift . Our room was on the top floor in a converted attic. The room was two stories. The front door opened into an entry which was very small with a spiral staircase... More

Brilliant place on a quiet cul de sac at base of the hill. Close to metro and a stones throw from several great restaurants. Across the square there are two local stores and 10 minute walk there is a department store. Best of both world since you have a kitchen and not just a hotel room. Clean and with very... More

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
