We stayed at this hotel just before Easter, 2009. Although the hotel seems a bit far from some of the major tourist sites, it is rather easy to hop on the metro and find your way around Paris in no time at all. With the metro station just outside the door, this hotel was fairly convenient. It did not feel like Paris to us though. It is a bit further southeast from the action. I stayed at this Mercure during Spring Break 2003, during my first visit to Paris. It is very close to the Bercy metro station, an easy walk, with a few little cafes nearby.
