A lot of people complain about the size of the rooms of this hotel. However, that is normal Paris standard. But we booked the Privileged room, a tip I got from the comments here in Tripadvisor. True enough, the room was big! Clean and the bathroom even had two sinks! The contents of the mini-bar was free (not sure if... More

I stayed in the Mercure Paris Royal Madeleine one night. It's expensive, the service is poor, the hotel is old and rubbish, the mattress was terribly bad and I couldn't sleep well. It's not in the quality standard that you are expecting from a Mercure Hotel. I don't recommend to anyone to go to this Hotel.

6 of us stayed at the Royal Madeleine at the beginning of August this year. After seeing some negative posts we were pleasantly surprised as the hotel is a cosy and perfect place to unwind and sleep after a busy day exploring Paris. The rooms are small but not tiny, and why do you need a lot of space when... More

The hotel is in the centre of paris, great for all the sites,it is situated down a nice quite street, full of French character, there are quite a few other hotels, plus a good selection of small restaurants, bakery's and a couple of fruit shops.there is also a lovely little park called Louis park which you can see from your room window ( we were... Only had one night stay in the Mercure Paris Royal Madeleine. As I have noted with other hotels in this area, they (probably justifiably) are paranoid about theft, so the street door is kept permanently locked and is opened only in response to a buzzer. Reception were also worried that a colleague who took an iron and ironing board to... More

I understand that European rooms are usually smaller, but the room, the elevator, the shower were not enough to accommodate 2! The bathroom shower was so small that you couldn't turn around in it. Unfortunately, there was no view to speak of and the air conditioner in our room didn't really make it cooler. On one occasion, the maid came... More

This was just an average hotel in a decent location. It was difficult for us to find from the train, but we finally made it. The elevator is very small and so I rode it up with our luggage while my boyfriend met me upstairs. The room was quite, quite tiny and the wifi was just so so. The "hallway"... More

Very disappointed after 3-night stay in the Mercure Paris Royal Madeleine. Did not feel like I was in a 4* hotel. The location was great but the streets doors are kept permanently locked so you have to stand in the street until someone lets you in after you ring the buzzer. The room was fine and even a good size... More
