Stayed here when needed hotel near station in an emergency. Nice modern room with walk in shower. No restaurant just a weird snack bar with terrible food and area round gare de Lyon a but threatening for lone female traveller so had to eat there. It was an expensive stay at around £205 but good location for the station which... More

We stayed here as part of a tour en-route to Italy. The location cannot be faulted being right alongside the Gare de Lyon and therefore ideally placed for our train the next morning. However, the decor is average, dull and totally devoid of character. The room appeared to be clean enough but everything was so worn and dated that it... More

We travelled in a group tour and we stated here for two nights. Overall was not too bad but as the day we checked in was pretty hot, the air conditioning was not really working for us in the beginning. The good thing is it is just next to the train station and Metro!.

Upon arrival in Paris we went straight from Charles de Gaule to the hotel. Rooms were not ready but we arrived at nine in the morning. So we went out for a walk and returned at around one. We checked in and went to our rooms. Hallways were not very large and when I went into my room I was... More

Overnight stay with Great Rail Journeys, bedroom nice and clean, reasonable size and well equipped. Felt like a second class citizen at breakfast , herded down a corridor to a separate room where all the breakfast items where not available that you could have in the proper area. Having said that the food was fresh, good scrambled egg and enough... More

This is an excellent hotel if you catching a train as you are next door and just walk the few metres to the station. Our room was compact but contained everything that we needed for our overnight stay and was clean, quiet and well air conditioned. The hotel served a good and varied breakfast, in particular some large fluffy croissants.

The rooms are very basic while the price is 4 stars. I did not enjoy staying here. Moreover, it was very noisy in the morning when the cleaning ladies or someone else passed by the rooms (around 6am). To get a feel for the quality of furniture in the hotel, just try the lounge chairs in the lobby! On the... More

Each time I ask myself, why do I go back to the Mercure at Gare du Lyon? Because that’s where the trains are! It isn’t cheap and the rooms are small. However, it is clean, the staff are pleasant and there is a decent breakfast. My main criticism is they apparently mistrust their guests. Unlike previous bookings with the hotel,... More
