Ideally situated close to many of the main sights of Paris and to countless restaurants, shops and galleries, the Mercure Opera Cusset (the name of the man that owned this original 'hôtel particulier') is a pleasant place to stay. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. A weak point is the elevator that must bring you to the upper floors.... More

The Mercure Opera Cusset is a perfectly suitable hotel for a short business trip. Comfortable and clean room, good breakfast, lovely and helpful staff, quick check-in and check-out. Very good location close to metro stations and several buses. The room felt a bit oppressive because of fairy low ceilings so I don't think I would stay more than a couple... More

Excellent location, right in the center of Paris, close to the metro and in a nice area populated with plenty of good restaurants, shops and bars. The reception staff were truly excellent, so cheerful and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. Although I was upgraded free to a very spacious Premier room, my two companions found their rooms quite small,... More

Our group of five (family and friends) stayed at this hotel for three nights last October. The location of the hotel is very good, plenty of restaurants around, quite close to Opera Garnier and Galleries Lafayette (about a 10-minute walk), and close to metro station and bus stop. Check in and check out were both quick and efficient. The staff... More

My fiance and I booked a weekend break in Paris. Neither of us had been to Paris before and we were anxious about the accommodation as we did not know any of the "go to" areas to stay. This hotel did not disappoint us. It was in a fabulous location, within walking distance to the city centre itself. There is... More

The rooms are comfortable and well kept, very good to excellent. However, the Mercure breakfasts are one of their highlights and the price goes along with that. At Paris Opéra Cusset, the breakfast area has been redone completely and is impractical due to being set up in corners and the staff is not on top of restocking things. I observed... More

A nice spacious hotel in the center of Paris, conveniently located close to the metro, but quite some venues are within walking distance. The rooms is very comfortable and spacious. The pictures of a polar bear scrawling through Paris (almost everywhere - above the bed, in the shower) creates a nice, friendly atmosphere. The breakfast is of good quality and... More

Great location with good connection to Metro as well as walking distance to Opera and Bd d'Haussman. Actual hotel was under major construction during my visit (no mention of this during the booking). Breakfast was located in a tiny hall with the food arriving from another hall (pre packed in bags). Staff during breakfast has not spoken a word in... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
