My first stay here. Reception small but effective, I was checked in promptly and efficiently. Rooms was small but extremely functional. As I was staying one night I did not need large space. Bed very comfortable so a good nights rest was received. Lighting controls very easy and next to the bed. coffee and tea facilities provided. Bathroom spacious with... More

We booked rooms at this hotel due to its close location to where we were having a business meeting. Although we had no time to sightsee or shop, its location seems to be excellent and the room rates were tolerable considering it being centrally located in a major European city. We were greeted by friendly personnel. The ladies that evening... More

I stayed at Mercure Paris Cusset Opéra for two nights in December 2014. The hotel is located in a smaller street, a few meters away from Boulevard des Italiens and a metro station. This is ideal for walking around or taking the metro to sights further away. I was upgraded to a Privilege room (418). Although no bigger than a... More

Ideally situated close to many of the main sights of Paris and to countless restaurants, shops and galleries, the Mercure Opera Cusset (the name of the man that owned this original 'hôtel particulier') is a pleasant place to stay. The staff is very helpfull and friendly. A weak point is the elevator that must bring you to the upper floors.... More

The Mercure Opera Cusset is a perfectly suitable hotel for a short business trip. Comfortable and clean room, good breakfast, lovely and helpful staff, quick check-in and check-out. Very good location close to metro stations and several buses. The room felt a bit oppressive because of fairy low ceilings so I don't think I would stay more than a couple... More

Excellent location, right in the center of Paris, close to the metro and in a nice area populated with plenty of good restaurants, shops and bars. The reception staff were truly excellent, so cheerful and helpful, and the hotel was spotless. Although I was upgraded free to a very spacious Premier room, my two companions found their rooms quite small,... More

Our group of five (family and friends) stayed at this hotel for three nights last October. The location of the hotel is very good, plenty of restaurants around, quite close to Opera Garnier and Galleries Lafayette (about a 10-minute walk), and close to metro station and bus stop. Check in and check out were both quick and efficient. The staff... More

My fiance and I booked a weekend break in Paris. Neither of us had been to Paris before and we were anxious about the accommodation as we did not know any of the "go to" areas to stay. This hotel did not disappoint us. It was in a fabulous location, within walking distance to the city centre itself. There is... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
