This is a great base to explore Paris. Bastille is not the best part of the city, but it is easily reached from Gare du Nord, short walk to the lovely Marais district and the staff were great. Rooms are basic, but very clean. bedding was soft and the beds very comfortable. For the budget price, we were very happy.... More

Room is a bit small, but very comfortable. Everything else was great. Very close to a few metro stations. Great service as well. Also a lot of nice restaurants around the area to try and we really enjoyed the stay

Very nice Hotel, helpful staff, clean and most all very central to all amenities. Easy to get to via Transport system from either Orly or Charles de Gaulle. Do not pay exorbitant taxi fees it is very unnecessary. Orly bus from airport plus 2 trains and you end up 100 metres from Hotel. All within a total of 40 minutes... More

The hotel is perfectly located for the purpose of my trip and the reception staff were very helpful. I really liked the space in the reception / foyer areas. However, the rooms are small and the spaces in the bedrooms are badly planned.

Lovely hotel in great location. Rooms were a bit small but they were clean and appropriate. The staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast was nice too. Only a short walk into the centre (20minutes). Would recommend and definitely would stay here again.

The Ibis Hotel Bastille Opera is in a good location to tour Paris. It is very close to the Metro and is tucked into a quiet spot one block off the main street. There are many cafes and restuarants close by. The rooms are very small, with almost no storage. The showers worked well, but the shower stall may be... More

Over all the stay here was ok ….but just OK, I have experienced better from IBIS. The check in was super-fast as I had checked in online. When I arrived at the hotel (at 10am) the room was ready. After dropping off the bags we went to explore Paris! On our return later in the it was evident that the... More

The hotel is well located (1 block from Sabine-Breguet Metro Station and 3 blocks from Bastille), clean and neat. The staff is helpful and interested in helping the guests. Rooms standard, but with a slightly larger bathroom than I found in other Ibis around the world.

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
