We done the River cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam and this hotel was a three day stay at end of cruise. We didn't really like this hotel...it is situated a far way outside of Paris. The bed wasn't that comfortable and think they were singles pushed together as the middle was very hard. The heavy curtains didn't close so the... More

Nice enough hotel which we thought to be in the back blocks as it was our first visit to Paris and we did not know our way around and we were a long way from the main tourist spots. The main problem was that there was only one clunky lift and as we checked in with a tour group it... More

The location was great for us because we walked all over the city and the the busy tourist areas but could return to a more quiet and interesting location. The courtyard was lovely and the staff were exceptional. The rooms were clean, modern and comfortable. We were very happy with the value of this hotel.

I hosted a four day team meeting at this hotel in mid August, the peak of the tourist season in Paris. The meeting room was useful and well lit. It opened up to an open courtyard with a glass roof, which made it possible to enjoy the fresh outdoors during the breaks - always a plus during long business meetings.... More

This is a small hotel complex really, build around a courtyard garden. It has an artsy feel, decor wise - and the overall impression is very good. Our room was clean and comfortable, though in no way remarkable. The location is slightly on the fringes of the Marais, which is good, as it meant it was convenient for everyday shopping... More

Hotel is quite nice and is located just view minutes away from place de vosges. It got a garden like in the middle of each hotel buildings with a nice restaurant and friendly service. The only thing i dont like when we came is that our room is located on the 3rd floor which has a window but so high... More

This place was recommended by a good friend who has stayed here many times. This is a great place to stay, especially if you are exploring the Marais area. The hotel was clean; check-in was very easy, and our room was quiet and as advertised. The breakfast, while not in the best location (essentially a basement room), was very good... More

This was a newly decorated room (jr. suite) with a queen bed for my husband and me and a twin for our teenage son in his own little alcove. The air-conditioning was working very well (thank goodness because Paris is HOT in August). There is a subway stop right on the corner and it's easy to walk to cafes and... More

We stayed in a suite, which we found to be very spacious, clean and even had a microwave, hob and fridge :-) the hotel was boutique and at the same time trendy thanks to its outdoor terrace. Location is great for having a coffee outside a local Café and just people watching, its within walking distance of Bastille which has... More

Hotel Les Jardin du Marais is in a great location. It is surrounded by many wine bars and eateries and runs parallel with Boulevard Beaumarchais. The courtyard garden is a lovely place to sit, especially on a summer's evening. Our room was small but clean and very adequate. The staff were extremely helpful and polite, even booking train tickets online... More

Staying in Bastille / Oberkampf

Neighborhood Profile
Bastille / Oberkampf
Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighborhood.
