I have stayed at the Lutetia several times in the past and have been delighted with the service, decor, rooms, location and helpfulness. Mainly, in my mind, it is a luxury hotel aimed at tourists, albeit tourists who are well-off financially. I have recommended and would again recommend this hotel to others. However we no longer stay in hotels in... More

Our room was amazingly large for Paris - both the bathroom and the bedroom. All the amenities are available, and the breakfast buffet was outstanding. The atmosphere has a sophisticated touch, and the concierge was most helpful. It is now undergoing renovations to make it even better.

I had the pleasure in 2013 to spend a week in this magnificent hotel, besides the location, the building, the architecture, the rooms, the service, the cigar room, the bar & restaurant, this hotel is part of the history of France and of course Paris. Was very sad, that in my visit in Paris 2 weeks ago, it was undergoing... More

I read with some regret the reports of others indicating that this fine hotel is closed for a lengthy renovation. So although it's probably irrelevant in light of the circumstances, I'll say that my stay there last fall was wonderful in all regards. Knowing it was an anniversary trip, the staff made sure that my wife and I received a... More

The hotel lutetia has been bought by an israeli fund in order to restore its place within the best hotels in Paris. It is located in the finest neighborhood in the city (6th Arrondissement) surrounded by small fashion shops and the luxury department store "Le Bon Marche". We all hope to see the hotel renovated to meet the highest standard... More

While an excellent hotel, it apparently closed for renovation for three years in April 2014. If you try to make a reservation, it comes back, "no rooms available." Let's look forward to its reopening. I have stayed several times and always enjoyed the hotel and the location. Find another hotel in the area, Its outstanding in its proximity to everything... We satyed there last year for a romantic tripand had the best time. The room is very nice, not as clean as we would expect, but I liked the green concept of not replacing the towels every day. The service was very professional and couteous and the location was just perfect for having everything in a walking distance.

We ended up not being able to stay here--it was recommended to us by our travel agent, but we received notice that our planned stay was not possible because they were closing for 3 years for a renovation. They were very helpful in forwarding our reservations to our choice of two hotels for our stay, which worked out just fine.... More

Stayed here in April and received the warmest welcome from reception, plus some extra attention as it was my birthday - like a Bottle of Champagne and some sweets, plus a DC of their jazz-in-the-lounge music! That was over and above expectations. Although the hotel is undergoing some modernisation, the room we had was a little tired, but the bathroom... More

For the last 30 years we have stayed at this hotel and always enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately on 4/13/14 the Hotel closed for 3 years . I hope they will reopen . The art deco architecture of the Hotel was vey special in today's cookie cutter layouts. The rooms and bath rooms were spacious and the service up to the... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
