This hotel is a real "must". It was constructed in 1634 as a royal tennis court and is now a luxury boutique hotel. The rooms ares, all but. Very comfortable index, the staff extremely welcoming and friendly and the quality/price rapport is excellent. It is located in the centre of Paris (on the Ile Saint-Louis) which has 3 métro lines within... More

We ( Boyfriend and I ) stay here often as he works in Paris. It is the nicest on Ile st Louis and This area is among the best to stay in Paris. It is beautiful inside. Very safe as well. Love the historic component and the fact they retain original beams throughout. Also not far from RER B and... More

I first stayed here in the late 80's primarily for the location. Each subsequent stay was better than the last and last week I became convinced this is a 5 star hotel. The Isle of St Louis location is as good as it gets. There are many top restaurants less than 5 minutes away. The staff bends over backwards to... More

We loved the Hotel du Jeu de Paume. The staff was very helpful and kind. We loved the charming street full of great restaurants, shops and galleries. We highly recommend this lovely gem located just steps from the Notre Dame.

Our favorite Paris hotel is the Jeu de Paume on Ile St Louis. The historic building is lovely. The staff is exceptional, caring, helpful and warm. The rooms are a bit small, but big enough unless you are going to spend all day in the room. And there are public areas for sitting and entertaining that expand the space available.

Easy to locate In the oldest part of the city very near Notre Dame and the Shakespeare Book Store. This is the Paris you dream of; with very cute walking streets, old buildings, lots of small cafes and restaurants not too overwhelmed but tourists. In fact, no tour groups at all. Parking can be a challenge and nothing is included... More

My wife and I visited Paris the last week in May to attend the French Open. This was our fourth time staying on I'lle Saint-Louis but our first time staying at the Jeu de Paume. The staff was extremely helpful, the rooms very clean and overall the hotel was very quiet. Our room was a little small but this is... More

As other reviewers have noted, this hotel in the center of Ile St. Louis is very quiet. The rooms are a bit small, but that's to be expected in central Paris. Shops and restaurants are just outside the door, plus numerous ice cream stands. Notre Dame and several Metro stations are only a short walk away. This was definitely an... More

The location was perfect. It is in the center; within walking distance from many attractions. It is residential area and very quiet. The bedding was very comfortable. The staff was friendly, gave suggestions for good restaurants, provided extra pillows, checked transportation schedule, etc. The room was not big (it is Paris), but common areas are surprisingly spacious. If I ever... More

From the moment I arrived I was treated like a friend, but with the utmost respect. All the staff were friendly and helpful, they even indulged my desire to speak french as much as I could! This small hotel (30 rooms) is located on île-saint-louis, a delightful small island connected by bridge to île de la Cité (home to Notre... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
