At first I was not sure how this hotel was going to be because it is a bit hidden and it is in the middle of the streets. It turns out the hotel is beautiful and especially not noisy. We could not hear the streets in the day and night. I strongly recommend this place. The staff is very nice!

We stayed here mid week for three nights and had a wonderful stay. The location was great, very central and not too touristy. Our room was spacious and blissfully quiet and the bed extremely comfortable! The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. They booked restaurants ahead of our stay and during our stay for us,... More

We think the Ile St Louis is a great location, central and pretty with lots of places for breakfast, coffee and tea. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed with good reliable fast free Wi-fi and a decent shower with good water pressure. No hotel room in Paris is huge but this was large enough not to feel cramped.... More

I stayed here for 5 nights. I stayed in a single room by myself. Free wifi, hair dryer, and iron upon request. The room was clean and comfortable. I don't think there were many people staying when I was there. Noise was minimal. I liked the location but if you are using the metro it may be a bit of... More

We've been traveling to Paris for over twenty years and never had a 'favorite' place, but I think we've found it now. Just right in every way, never too much this or that. Great location whether you are a left- or right-bank type. Excellent staff. So easy, which is what a lot of hotels are not.

I can't imagine there is a better hotel for your stay in Paris. Ile St Louis is right in the middle of everything, but quite, quaint and friendly. The location was perfect. The staff here were so relaxed and friendly. It rained one day, and we borrowed our hotel's umbrella for the day. We had a bottle of wine to... More

My husband and I are going to Paris for a night from London in December. In haste I booked a room for what I thought was December 29, and pre paid on bookings.com. By mistake, I booked it for October 29 (yesterday) and didn't realize this until this morning when I received a notice that I was a no-show, and... More

I love Ile St Louis, but have always assumed that any nice hotel there would be astronomically expensive. Not so! Jeu du Paume is not cheap, but the money is well-spent, and it's not off the charts. And it's got charm by the load. You wander from Ile de la Cite, cross the point to Ile St Louis, pass Brasserie... More

Yes, I loved this Hotel, location, staff and "scoop" the owner's dog! A family owned and operated hotel in the heart of Paris. Four short nights in Paris, not my first time in the city but the first time I was able to enjoy a cup of coffee with the owners of a hotel in a major city like Paris.... More

With historic charm and friendly staff, this hotel is a gem hidden in the heart of Paris. A stone's throw away from Notre Dame it is perfectly situated to visit all the sights. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious. Highly recommended.

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
