Spent the weekend in Paris and stayed at this hotel based on its location. The location of this small boutique hotel did not disappoint. It was very easy to get around. Rooms are very clean but small and outdated. Beds were reasonably comfortable. The hairdryer in our room was broken and I had to ask for another one. The little... More

Dear Guest, We’re sorry not having met your expectations on your recent stay with us! Concerning the size of our rooms, know that the large majority of them being Superior rooms – 18 square meters, we are in the higher room space category by Parisian standards. Also, we’re sorry the hairdryer broke down in your room, unfortunately such things might... More

Love the hotel location which is right next to the garden (jardin de Luxembourg). The staff is very friendly and speak English well. However, the room is very small which is a typical for Parisian hotel. Room also doesn't include breakfast but there are plenty restaurants to dine nearby.

Great Hotel, have stayed here for more than 20 years, with three different owners during that period. Some of the team has been there just as long, the new ones are also high quality and professional. The only issue is that of the internet speed which is not as high as business travelers might like. If you are coming for... More

Lovely hotel with excellent location, service, cosy lounge and delicious breakfast. The plumbing, heating and soundproofing are not quite up to four star standard but it's a trade off when you choose a historic building.

We've been to the Hotel Sainte Beuve many many times before we moved to NY from London - a hop, skip and a jump. In fact it was our favourite little French Hotel (having stayed in many). It has a large REAL fire in the lounge area. Comfortable seats and the rooms are mixed. Some are lovely with great views,... More

We stayed here for a weekend in December and found it to be excellent. Room was lovely and everything worked well. Our room, number 6 had a small balcony that overlooked a side street and old apartment buildings that would be lovely when the weather is a bit warmer. There was a lovely fire going a a real feeling of... More

Wonderful short break at the Hotel Sainte-Bueve last week. A lovely warm welcome when we arrived, helpful and attentive staff throughout our stay. Such a relaxing stay, in a lovely quiet room with the most comfortable bed. I must mention their delicious breakfasts too. A little Parisian gem, surrounded by wonderful restaurants and only a 5 minute walk from Les... More

Stayed here 5 nights in November. The hotel is as described. The staff was wonderful, the breakfast was filling, the room was cozy, quiet and clean, the metro and bus just steps away, walking late at night very safe, great restaurants nearby. Would return in a minute.

We visited the Hotel Sainte Beuve with our one year old son Danny. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, the rooms comfortable and reasonably sized and the lobby is a lovely place to hang out by the open fire on a chilly November day while drinking their excellent free coffee. Danny ran around the lobby playing endlessly but was... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
