We stayed in this charming hotel in April 2015. The welcome at the front desk was personal and in English! Yes, the rooms are small but it only added to the charm. The bed was super comfy, the décor beautiful, and I loved opening my window at night to hear the birds cooing and the church bells ringing. In close... More

Our second visit, we stayed here many years ago, and found the location and charm of the hotel perfect for us. Shabby chic--yes, but charming and a perfect location for exploring Paris. The hotel is accessible through a small courtyard; the rooms are small; our ensuite bath was clean and adequate with plenty of hot water; there is a lift;... More

I stayed here during Spring Break, 2015, with my three kids. The hotel is elegant. The rooms are tiny, which you would expect from the location, but you are within easy walking distance of the Louvre, the Musee D'Orsay, Notre Dame, Ile St. Louis and a number of shops and cafes. Stay at this hotel for the location if you... More

Dear Jennifer G, Thank you very much for taking time to post a comment on Trip Advisor. Our staff were so pleased to discover your comment! Saint-Germain des Près is a wonderful historic area, with many galleries, cafés, restaurants and shops. Hotel Des Marronniers is lucky to be located in a hidden courtyard of a quiet street. It helps us... More

We had a wonderful visit to Paris in May of 2014. We were advised that this was a great hotel, but that recommendation was a great understatement. When we return this year, we will be staying in the same hotel. OK, the rooms are small, but genuine in the décor. The staff is very helpful, the atrium and the backyard... More

Dear Elizabeth K, Thank you very much for sharing your opinion with other travelers. What a pleasure for our staff to discover your comment! It seems that you had a good stay with us and that is the best reward we could expect. Our rooms have a "Parisian" size, which means very far from American standards, you are totally right.... More

Great location but a little long in the tooth. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms are "Paris small" but fairly quiet. We paid extra for a minimal breakfast which might have been better at a local cafe. There is a nice terrace that probably would have been great but we were there in rainy February. For the... More

Dear Sir, We thank you for choosing the Hotel des Marronniers for your stay in Paris and are pleased to read that you enjoyed it . On the other hand, We do not understand why our breakfast is minimal. You are right, there are many places around the hotel for breakfast but in a cafe you will not find the... More

We love this hotel and stayed there for a week. We had stayed there before about 15 years ago. It is in a quiet area with lots of interesting small shops and galleries. True - the rooms was small and the bathroom was minute BUT it can't be beaten for the location. We walked to all our favourite museums including... More

Parisienne hotels generally have small rooms unless you feel you are so important you must swing a cat. The best hotels are on the Left Bank and three stars should give you everything you need. Hotel des Marronniers does just that, a pretty room and - wow, luxury for Paris - a bath in which most of me could fit,... More

Very centrally located to many attractions within walking distance. The room was a bit small but well appointed. There is a nice little lounge under reception where you can relax. There is also a computer available in the lounge. Many restaurants and bars are quite close.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
