We stayed in the junior suite which was very spacious and quiet with a large marble bathroom. There is a comfortable lounge, bar and breakfast room. Breakfast was nicely presented on the top of the grand piano. Staff were very helpful and the location is fantastic for walking to shops, restaurants and Luxembourg Gardens. Highly recommend.

This was such a lovely hotel. The hotel was so beautiful and charming and our room was perfect too. The bedding was very comfortable and the room overlooked a beautiful courtyard. The staff was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We felt very welcomed and also very comforted to know we could call on the staff for assistance at... More

We were completely pleased with our stay. The staff was helpful, room #26 was huge with a table and chairs as well as two beds, and the breakfast was more than adequate with wonderful bread and croissants as well as the usual fare of cereals, eggs and yoghurt. The courtyard off the lobby is very pretty and we were able... More

One of my brother's favorite hotels, my wife loved it, I had one concern. The hotel is a very nice boutique hotel in a great location in Paris. Restaurants galore, plus several great macaroon shops within blocks, walk to everywhere. Beautiful courtyard, quiet, a little rustic. Not a modern hotel, the Angleterre has a rich history going back over 200... More

I reserved a room on booking.com for a reasonably priced stay at the Hotel d'Angleterre last August (2014). My daughter and I arrived to find that we didn't have a room but a 2 bedroom suite with a small foyer and enormous bathroom. As soon as we settled in we both jumped for joy because we were so giddy with... More

Charming, quiet, helpful staff and close to the metro, museums and restraunts. (Great restraunt right across the street) Wonderful breakfast. I will stay there again. I was on my own in Paris and the front desk people were helpful directing me to great sights!

We were very excited to return to Paris for the New Year's holiday. Our travel agent selected Hotel d’Angleterre and booked two comfort rooms for our family. The location of this hotel is excellent, near Musee d’Orsay, the Louvre, wonderful restaurants and shopping. The reception staff was gracious and helpful and the reception, breakfast areas, and courtyard were as advertised.... More

I have heard and read about this hotel for years and finally decided to book in November 2014. I could not have been more disappointed. Other than the fact that it is well located on Rue Jacob in the heart of the 6th Arrondissement, nothing else would recommend staying here. The hotel decor is worn and tired. There is absolutely... The d'Angleterre is near to my wife's favorite shops, patisserie, and many Paris locations to which we can walk. It is near enough to the Louvre, the Museu D'Orsay, the Senate at Luxembourg Gardens, the Assembly, the Champs Elysee, Notre Dame etc. that we get our exercise and enjoy this special city on foot. The Hotel has many different rooms,... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
