Stayed here years ago with my parents; love it just as much now. Old fashioned elegance everywhere. Delicious breakfast served on a grand piano. Lovely courtyard was a favourite spot especially when it was 30°. Nice to have separate sitting area in the room. And you can't beat the location for walking to great restaurants, shopping, the Seine and major... More

A wonderful left bank hotel. Close to the Abbey of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, shoppng, good restaurants, and art galleries. A wonderful and colorful corner of Paris. The hotel is a real gem. Set in an historic building, used during the talks between the British and the colonist which lead to the Declaration of Independence, it is well appointed and very comfortable. The... More

We have stayed here over the years and never tire of this place. The staff are warm, friendly and eager to make your stay a happy one. Our room 21 is one of the superior rooms. Beautifully decorated. Nice seating area with small sofa and chair. Floor to ceiling windows that open out to the street with lovely drapes. There... More

Me and my partner visited this small beautiful hotel in April for a weekend and found the location in a perfect part of Paris and within walking distance of all sites around. Outside was restaurants and bars on every street and corner and only a few moments walk from the Latin quarter. The hotel was immaculate and very personal our... More

I stayed here one night and had to transfer hotels immediately the next day. They do not have air conditioning anywhere in the entire hotel and the website does not say this anywhere. Additionally, the pictures of the rooms on the website are very misleading when in reality the rooms are dark and old. On one of the hottest days... More

Madam, I'm sorry for your discontent, it is true that the hotel has no air conditioning but it is not a secret. Many of our customers know this and come back every year. We have a ventilation system but we have had an unusual heatwave during your stay and this is rare for this season. Also I am surprised by... More

Wonderful location Nice and quiet Very off-hand, to the point of rude, receptionists Terrible breakfast with dreadful stewed coffee and bready croissants (Cafe next door is much better quality and value) Sweet courtyard garden but uncared for with broken fountains. Bar is a cupboard ! Rooms are enormous Bathrooms could do with an update It's a shame its not better... More

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, I was very surprised by your comment that really does not reflect the image of the hotel d'Angleterre at all, and I'm really sorry that you have not been satisfied. Do not hesitate to send me a private letter to the attention of the manager, I'd like to know your name and room number and the... More

The hotel D'Angleterre St. Germaine offers something that is very hard to find in Paris--spaciious rooms. My friend and I stayed there for eight days and had a room on the top (4th) floor with high timbered ceilings, room for twin beds, an armoire, desk, chair and table plus a small dining room! The bathroom even had two sinks. The... More

We had a lovely junior suite in this charming, landmark protected hotel. Great value and great location. No air conditioning, so I am not sure about going there in the summer. The staff was wonderful, nice and accommodating. It is only a 3-star Hotel because it does not have all of the amenities, but it is perfect for a stay... More

We stayed in the junior suite which was very spacious and quiet with a large marble bathroom. There is a comfortable lounge, bar and breakfast room. Breakfast was nicely presented on the top of the grand piano. Staff were very helpful and the location is fantastic for walking to shops, restaurants and Luxembourg Gardens. Highly recommend.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
