My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon trip to Italy and France for 4 nights in August 2011. We got a room on the second floor (it's the first floor to them) but we asked for one on a higher floor to avoid the noise. The room we stayed in is exactly like a doll house,... More

I stayed twice. Better the room on the 1st floor (much higher ceiling). In the small available space I think they made quite a good job. Breakfast is good, probably a bit overcharged. This hotel fits 3 stars expectation. Note: right in front of it you can get the city bycicles -a true added value.

OMG, this darling boutique hotel is fabulous! We stayed here during our romantic trip to Paris, and loved the hotel! It is charmingly small, quaint, clean, with all amenities and does much to enhance the experience of staying in the Latin Quarter. The location could not be better for walking to many main attractions, local shops and great restaurants. The... More

This was a lovely little hotel in the heart of the 6th arrondissement. The location couldn't have been better - fabulous cafes and shops just around the corner, a short stroll to the Seine and Notre Dame - fantastic. So close in fact we could see Notre Dame from our window and were awakened by its bells. The hotel itself... More

I had stayed in this hotel many years ago, and while the location is just fantastic, I had found the hotel very old fashioned and lacking attention to detail. I had been told by a relation that they had changed management, so I decided to give it another try as I love this area of Paris. Though apparently the new... More

Yes, the rooms are small, but this is Paris! If you find a room which is large and doesn't cost the earth, then you are very fortunate. The staff are very helpful and friendly, the rooms are comfortable and the road outside is not too busy. It's within reach of lots of interesting places, including cafes and restaurants.

I booked this hotel months before our holiday and got a great online rate. The room was a little small but charming and adequate and the bed very comfortable. The hotel is beautifully decorated and great location on the left bank near restaurants and art galleries. And there is a great bakery a couple of doors down. The location is... More

We stayed at Hotel Dauphine for 4 nights during our recent trip to Europe. We are a 40-ish couple visiting Paris for the first time. This is a small hotel on a cute street in the St. Germain area. The positives are the location--Rue Dauphine becomes Pont Neuf and is only a block or two from Ile de la Cite,... More

Had I written this review a few days ago, it may have been slightly different and probably a little subjective. An issue which occurred while we stayed there is currently being resolved by the (new) Management and whilst still to be completely closed-off, his attitude and approach thus far has left me confident and happy that it will be rectified.... We stayed at Hotel Dauphine Saint Germain for 4 nights during a family trip to Paris. It was a quality hotel in a very convenient location and I feel we got value for our money. The rooms were tiny as to be expected in this area, but very clean and lovely - with large bathrooms. The trade off for convience... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
