I was there during this April 2015 and strongly recommend GHSM. Well located, closest to Luxemburg garden, the place is charming. The room was pretty comfortable and accommodated quite well my 4 family (wife and 2 daughters, 9 and 4 yo). The queen size bed, pillows and towels is high quality. The bath offers is quite good too. The breakfast... More

So glad I chose this hotel for many reasons. Great location, the staff was so nice to me, the rooms were super neat and clean with a modern look, and right by the RER ( which goes straight to and from the airport). Notre Dame is very close, The Louvre is walking distance (about a mile). There are MANY shops... More

This hotel was booked by the organizers of a business meeting and I was thrilled with many aspects: 1) location is superb right near Pantheon and La Sorbonne; one can walk to most sights: Eiffel Tower, Musee d'Orsay, Louvre, shopping; 2) the staff are superb: very helpful, booking restaurant reservations, printing maps, arranging transportation: in particular Clotilde, Claire, Cristina, Silvio;... Just returned from an nice 5 day stay at this hotel. We were warmly welcomed, given a complementary breakfast for 2, and settled into a small but clean and cozy room. The staff helped us make reservations for restaurants and the airport shuttle, directions and tips.

Great hotel across all metrics. Rooms are new and pleasant, location is ideal, staff were very nice and price is reasonable. We came back after staying in the hotel 2 years ago and were glad to find out everything stayed the same. Breakfast was included in the room price, which was a nice surprise. Bottom line: highly recommended!

I am back at the Grand Hotel Saint Michel. This is my fourth stay! If you want to know when was my first, well you will have to wait until the end of this story. To say that nothing has changed would be an understatement, you'll see. Let's start with the staff, all are of incomparable kindness, with huge smiles... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
