Perfectly situated to explore Paris. Restaurants in the Latin quarter (particularly Louis Vins near the Pantheon) are brilliant and full of atmosphere, plenty of bars around too. Staff wee very helpful and they'll even lend you an umbrella for the day if its raining!

We've stayed at this hotel frequently over the last 15 years. In the early years it was a nice hotel in a great location with terrific, helpful staff. Little has changed over those 15 years except that it is now a GREAT hotel in the same great location with the same terrific staff. In fact both Marie and Roberto have... More

It's very well kept, clean rooms with all the amenities if a bit small. The staff was very efficient and helpful in guiding me to some great places to eat, getting around the city and just overall very friendly. I greatly recommend this place for both adults and families.

Where do I begin? My first time in Paris and I was lucky enough to pick this hotel. The staff here were outstanding and really helped to make my trip thoroughly enjoyable. Their english was excellent (thankfully as my French leaves much to be desired) and no request was too small for them. Special thanks for their food recommendations (le... More

We stayed at the GHSM in the heart of the Latin Quarter from 17-22 Nov 2014; location was fantastic within walking distance from at least 3 Metro stations, restaurants and shopping. Notre Dame was just down the road and the L'Open Tour bus pickup for "hop on hop off" tour not far from the hotel. Staff spoke good English and... More

This hotel was small and quaint. The decor was very beautiful, staff was excellent. This hotel is located in the Latin Quarter and was very close to shops, food, metro, the Lourve as well the Notre Dame. I would recommend this hotel for a single person or if you are with the love of your life. Too small for a... More

While I understand it may be hotel policy to refuse refunds based on a early cancellations, I was floored earlier today when I inquired about canceling my reservation next week because a death in my family is taking my travels elsewhere. I spoke with Marie at their front desk, and another lady who was their manager. They were smug and... More

Good location near park Luxembourg and easy access to airport Charles de-Gaulle with train RER B. Clean, stylish but small room (as usual in Paris), good breakfast. Slight challenges with aircon but nothing major. Really nice service, guys really helped us with smile on their face.

Good: Comfortable bed and cushions. Well-equipped bathroom with robe, slippers, toiletries. Friendly and helpful staff. location was central and close to metro stations. Very nice breakfast, albeit a little expensive compared to other prices observed. Not so good: Sleeping was good but a little disturbed as overlooked road at front and early refuse collections and passers by making noise. Folding... More

Beautiful hotel near Luxembourg Gardens. Very attentive staff who had multiple suggestions and assisted with making reservations for restaurants and taxis. The room was well-decorated, comfortable, and cozy (smaller than American hotel rooms but this is common in Paris). Breakfast is not included but includes an average buffet. Only downside which led to the Very Good rating instead of Excellent... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
