Nice and charming small hotel. Interesting to stay in such an old house - however: everything is small because old houses are small. We upgraded our room to a double bed at it was truly worth the small extra cost.

Had a room on the third floor I think facing on to the street- 2 large windows and a nice view to look down on. Room was pretty small but nicely done with huge ceiling beams, bathroom was fine. The location is good, very central. It does really feel like an island on its own- pretty quiet in the evenings... More

Excellent hotel in a terrific location. The neighborhood is lovely with lots of quaint shops and has a shop with the best ice cream in Paris which the locals line up for. Lots of lovely cafes and resaurants nearby. We feasted on roast duck at the Rotisserie and it was terrific. Also enjoyed Cafe des Philosphes which is nearby in... More

Great location but the rooms are very, very dark with old carpet and stained bedcovers. The fridge was in the bathroom, near the toilet... Not very hygienic! The bed/mattress was small. Shower had mould growing between tiles. There is no extractor fan to release steam from shower, just tiny window, so no ventilation. A disappointing experience.

We arrrived and the hotelier was very charming and welcoming. We were shown to our room and given clear instructions about the hotel. As others have observed, this is a great location for exploring historic Paris. Not at the cheap end, but you really can walk everywhere from here. There are good restaurants, cafes and bars in the neighbourhood and... More

We are regular visitors to Paris, staying in different locations most times. This was our first stay on Ile St Louis and the Hotel ds Deux-Iles is superbly situated for Notre Dame, Le Marais and much of central Paris, in a quiet historic street. Rooms are small - as normal for central Paris - but ours was charming, with exposed... More

Great Location for Notre Dame. Nice hotel, small rooms but warm and comfortable, beams and nicely decorated, cosy. Nice bathroom. Good restaurants in the street our favorite was on the corner called St Regis.

In Paris for a quick 5 day visit to see the sights, we could not have made a better decision on hotel and location. we had a double room and a single room for three people. As expected, the rooms were small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and sincerely interested in making our stay a... More

Passing through Paris for one only night we could not have made a better choice for both comfort and location. Sure our double room was not large (it is Paris!) but it was more than adequate, very clean and comfortable. The modern bathroom was superb with full bath for soaking and brilliant hot water. Just a few minutes walk to... More

This is a small hotel, with small rooms and a very small elevator, but don't let the smallness - which is par for the course in many French hotels - put you off. It is hard to imagine a more breathtaking or more convenient location than the Isle Saint Louis and this small hotel offers comfort, a friendly welcome, and... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
