We are regular visitors to Paris, staying in different locations most times. This was our first stay on Ile St Louis and the Hotel ds Deux-Iles is superbly situated for Notre Dame, Le Marais and much of central Paris, in a quiet historic street. Rooms are small - as normal for central Paris - but ours was charming, with exposed... More

Great Location for Notre Dame. Nice hotel, small rooms but warm and comfortable, beams and nicely decorated, cosy. Nice bathroom. Good restaurants in the street our favorite was on the corner called St Regis.

In Paris for a quick 5 day visit to see the sights, we could not have made a better decision on hotel and location. we had a double room and a single room for three people. As expected, the rooms were small but very clean and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating and sincerely interested in making our stay a... More

Passing through Paris for one only night we could not have made a better choice for both comfort and location. Sure our double room was not large (it is Paris!) but it was more than adequate, very clean and comfortable. The modern bathroom was superb with full bath for soaking and brilliant hot water. Just a few minutes walk to... More

This is a small hotel, with small rooms and a very small elevator, but don't let the smallness - which is par for the course in many French hotels - put you off. It is hard to imagine a more breathtaking or more convenient location than the Isle Saint Louis and this small hotel offers comfort, a friendly welcome, and... More

Our family of three visited Paris for a few days in August and stayed at the Hotel des Deux Iles for the first time. Over the years I have stayed at more than twenty Paris hotels on both banks, including another on the same street on Saint-Louis. I highly recommend staying on the island and this hotel in particular, for... More

Had read reviews regarding the small rooms here but was still surprised by the very tiny room. We had large bags as we had been travelling for a while and had to leave them on the bed until we went to bed and then up against the door for 1 and then the other right up beside the bed so... More

The location is unbeatable, right at the centre of Paris and within walking distance of most of what we like to see. Room was quite small with windows onto internal courtyard but quite light and adequate. Didn't take breakfast as café nearby. Staff really helpful about ringing ahead to Nice restaurant for following day. Would happily stay again, not cheap... More

Imagine you want to take a quick dash over to Notre Dame -- a less than 10-minute stroll. Absolutely charming neighborhood. Stayed the first two nights w/hubby, then six nights alone. What a fantastic location! Staff could not have been friendlier, everyone spoke English and remembered what room I was in. Rooms are small -- my single room was about... More

Although rooms here are small, they are impeccably clean and comfortable. When in Paris, you want to be out and about in the city most of the time anyway, so a spotless, comfortable place to stay does not have to be spacious too, in our minds. We would not hesitate to stay here again. Conveniently placed in our favourite part... More

Staying in Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis

Neighborhood Profile
Ile de la Cite / Ile Saint-Louis
Two islands sit in the middle of the Seine at the very heart of Paris. The more majestic one, Ile de la Cité, sparkles with history. This is the birthplace of Paris, the home of the Gothic Sainte-Chapelle, and the site of the prison where Marie Antoinette was held before her execution. Tourists flock to see the iconic Notre Dame and the beautiful bridges that straddle the Seine. Ile Saint-Louis, the more provincial island, welcomes you with cozy traditional eateries, small boutiques, and what some people say is the best ice cream in the city. This is essential Paris from its very beginnings to its modern appeal.
