I stayed here for one night in September 2013 with a friend. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was large for a Parisian hotel. The hotel itself is quite small, and the access to the room was funny- lots of doors. Great location. Basic and nice.

Everyone was nice, close to the metro but does not have the amenities or location we would prefer. The hotel itself is very small and quiet. We had a room off the courtyard which did allow smoke into our room at times. Paris has some wonderful quaint neighborhoods and this was certainly not our favorite.

We thoroughly enjoyed the week we spent at this hotel. The location worked because: (1) it is close to the Jardin du Luxembourg, perfect for exercise walks or jogging, (2) there are 3 metro lines within 1 to 3 blocks, going in different directions (Notre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Eiffel Tower), (3) very good boulangeries and food stores nearby... Hotel Chaplain is located near everything theres a Metro station just around the corner, and block away it's another line so moving there is quite simple. There's a taxi station just around the corner also if you prefer to move alone. Hotel Chaplain has this charm from a small luxury hotel, but without the price!! It's clean, confortable and the... We've just returned from four fabulous nights in Paris where we stayed in this smart little hotel. The location is perfect and the staff very friendly and helpful especially Oceanis & Morgane providing great recommendations to local restaurants and directions to sights etc. . We booked a Privilige room which was very quiet, comfortable and clean - I would imagine... More

The hotel was comfortable, quiet, and perfectly situated in a great neighborhood -- close to the metro, airport train, and many cafes and restaurants. Staff were very nice and the breakfast was good. We would stay there again for sure.

We stayed two nights in Paris. This hotel is located in a wonderful area, right next to the gardens and great cafés. If you take the metro you can get to almost anything in Paris. We enjoyed that it was off the busy streets. Rooms are small, but typical for Paris. We enjoyed our stay.

The room I stayed on was on the 3rd floor. I'm used to big chain hotels, Four Seasons, Fairmonts, etc, but because the price of those hotels are so high in Paris I opted for Hotel Chaplain Rive Gauche. The room I stayed in was small but pleasant. It was decent for one person, but I can't imagine having another... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
