I stayed at the Familia Hotel last week (August) with my boyfriend during my first Paris stay from the US and I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about this hotel!! If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, charming hotel that is walking distance to most things but also affordable, look no further. It is on a... More

A friendly compact hotel across the river and a 7 minute walk from Notre Dame Cathedral. Rooms very comfortable with air conditioning. Hotel staff very informative and helpful. Rooms quiet, which is helped by a door that shields you from the noise of the lift and other guests climbing the stairs. Lift is small only carrying 2 people or 1... More

Stayed at the Familia Hotel for a week during my first trip to Paris. The hotel is located in the Latin Quarter. The staff was very friendly and willing to provide us with anything we asked for especially directions to the different sites and how to use the Metro. The hotel is quaint with clean small rooms. We also had... More

We felt very fortunate to find this small hotel strategically located in Paris, near two metro stations and the Il de la Cite as well as two blocks from Bd St Germain de Pres and the bus. The staff was friendly and helpful, particularly Nicolas, who strategically helped us plan day trips from Paris using the bus and metro. There... More

As four female travelers, safety and accessibility to public transportation is high on priority list. We are fans of boutique hotels as we spend so little time at hotels and would rather spend money in other ways. However, cleanliness is a must. The location is ideal; 5 minute (10 for slow walkers!) to metro, 10 to Notre Dame, near lots... More

Good, clean, small hotel within walking distance of Cardinal Le Moine and Maubert Mutualite metro stations. Latin Quarter, 10 minute walk to Notre Dame. Rue des Ecoles lis noisy at night, though the A/C unit with windows closed helps to deaden noise. If you are easily awakened at 3AM, ask for a room off the street. Elevator. Friendly, welcoming reception... More

Great location, hotel a little tired but it's still good value for Paris. Pillows terrible but staff helpful and we got what we paid for so we were still happy with this place. Walking distance to everything.

The hotel itself is just around the corner from Notre-Dame so the surrounding area is gorgeous, just like you'd imagine Paris to be. There are a couple of tube stops nearby to choose from so getting around the city is super easy. The staff on the front desk were consinsently so so helpful in guiding us which routes to take... This is a more quaint styled hotel and full of charm. Hotel is clean throughout, warm rooms and the staff were excellent. Staff speak a variety of languages and were more than helpful with every enquiry. Nothing was a problem. Breakfast is served in the downstairs area and some of the best value and fine dining can be had within... More

We stayed mid June 2015 for 3 days and were absolutely charmed. We highly recommend it. Nicholas and Gladys looked after us very well and were always helpful and friendly, and spoke very good English, so I was able to chat with them. Sabrina served us a wonderful continental breakfast each day with a big smile, which was reasonably priced.... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
