Four of us spent a week here in June, having made reservations via internet some months earlier. At that time, we had been advised that no balcony rooms were available; however, upon our arrival, we were delighted to learn that one of our rooms did, indeed, have a balcony (tiny, but enough room for my sister and me to share... We spent 3 night in Paris at this hotel. Small, but adequate and walking distance to Notre Dame Cathedral and other sights. We didn't eat the breakfasts since my wife needed gluten free and mainly there was bread etc. We did eat at nearby restaurants and the hotel next door owned by the same people had a very adequate breakfast.... We requested a room not too high up and we were given a room that could not get any lower; it was on the ground floor, just two steps away from the reception desk. :) Room was neat and clean. Room was triple sharing, so it had a big four-poster bed and a single bed. Just a little bit noisy... More

I have stayed here 6 times over recent years and it is a great place for a few nights. It is 2 star and the rooms are small but the staff are excellent and the location is perfect. Rooms are quiet. Breakfast is a simple continental. Staff are very helpful. Recommended for an inexpensive stay.

Best hotel in Paris, very nice staff, Nicolas helped us for four days. When stranded at CDG airport a week later, he helped me find a room - very grateful!! English, German, Russian and Spanish spoken, near St. Nicolas cathedral, 10 minutes to Notre Dame.

This is a fine, solid, fairly affordable hotel w/in walking distance to almost *everything.* Our room was comfortable and reasonably clean, the people running the place were nice. But the incredible location is the big draw -- we took a bus to the Eiffel Tower, the metro to Montmartre, and otherwise we walked and walked and walked -- to Notre... More

This hotel is perfectly positioned around the corner from Notre-Damme which is perfect. There are many restaurants around providing easy, tasty food. The hotel itself has a lot of character and the staff were all very friendly. Although the room itself was small it was perfect for what we needed and had all the necessary facilities with no extra 'faf'.... More

The Familia Hotel is located in the Latin Quarter, or student district, of Paris. It is conveniently a short (~10 min) walk from Notre Dame, and there are 3 major metro stops within 3-10 mins walking distance. The staff at the Familia Hotel is extremely welcoming and helpful, and they speak and understand English (and French) fluently. For only $145... More

We organised our visit to Paris at short notice and had some difficulty finding a place to stay in the Latin Quarter. The Familia was recommended and I contacted them immediately by phone. The receptionist on duty was most helpful and everything was quickly arranged. The hotel turned out to be a typical unpretentious 2 star hotel, situated not far... More

We visited this hotel in February and thought it was lovely. We paid €380 for 4 nights which I consider good value as the room and location were both very good. The room was cleaned to a high standard each day and is about a five minute walk from Notre Dane with plenty of bars & cafes nearby.

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
