We (a party of 4 adults and 4 kids) stayed here for 3 nights and occupied three rooms. The rooms are small and the walls are a bit thin but otherwise the quality was good. Clean beds, hot showers and some helpful English speaking staff. We had a good breakfast one day too in the hotel but otherwise went to... More

A fantastic little hotel in the Latin quarter of Paris. The rooms are small but full of French character. We opted for a room which had a balcony which had a "view" of the spire of Notre Dame. We did not want a "chain" hotel and The Familia is not that. It has a great boutique feel to it, and... More

We have just enjoyed a long weekend in Paris staying at Familia Hotel. The location is great you are just a couple of minutes walk from the river, not far from Notre Dame cathedral. There are lots of lovely cafes and bars in close proximity. The hotel rooms are compact, very clean and they have everything you need with a... More

We are giving a 4 based on the location which is a 10 minute walk from Notre Dame. It is also on a really nice street and really close to a couple of metro stations. There are also many nice affordable restaurants and cafes nearby. You should check out rue mouffetard if you are on a budget, there are many... More

If you're looking for a 5 star American Hotel - this place is not for you. However, if you are, like me, looking for a wonderful French experience: stay here. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The renovated bathroom was all marble & modern & beautiful. I liked the fact that I had to check out and in... More

Enjoyed 4 nights in mid December at the hotel. The location is fantastic. We would walk and get fresh croissant's every morning. The train station was a 5 min walk. In the evening there was a great bar for wine in cheese close by. The staff was very helpful. Bed was firm, room was clean.

Very nice service. They speak English not only French. The room is clean. Rooms are very small, but in Paris is so much to do, so you only sleep there. Breakfast is French style, but nice. I can suggest anybody who is looking for good price in city centre.

Hotel is a traditional Paris 5 storey building and rooms are small but front rooms have balconies which opens them up a bit. Service was spot on however with nothing too much trouble and help freely given: maps provided, advice on transport links, all our luggage stored on arrival and taken to our room etc So - for a short... This was our first and probably only visit to Paris, staying 10 nights, and we wanted as much of a Parisian experience as possible. That included NOT staying at a large or fancy hotel, as we really wanted the ambiance of Paris, the term "old" and "small" mean nothing, as everything in Paris is old. The Familia Hotel was all... This was my second trip to La Familia Hotel - and another great one. Perfect location in the Latin Quarter and a short walk to Notre Dame. Access to multiple metro stops. Small, but clean and comfortable with friendly and helpful staff. Working WiFi. Recommend requesting a room with a street view (if you're on the top floors you get... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
