This hotel is tiny but right in the heart of Parisian Paris. Next to the canal teaming with life, a warm and friendly staff team and access to some superb restaurants within an easy walk. The rooms were clean and bright, (make sure you book the larger ones, the small ones are rather cosy!) Free minibar and a glass of... More

I stayed here for a night with a friend, and I would say my stay was very pleasant. We arrived at the hotel at approximately 6pm.The front desk staff was very polite and helpful. Our room was small, but certainly big enough for us and our luggage.) The bathroom was a bit dated. Also the shower curtain was a bit... More

I lived in Paris off an on for a dozen years. Since I sold my apartment there I have been staying at Le Citizen and would only stay somewhere else under protest. The hotel is small (12 rooms), intimate, and very well run. The rooms are extraordinarily spacious, even the small ones, with big, wide, comfortable beds and brand-new bathrooms... More

The staff was so friendly they felt like family. The rooms were beautiful in a very clean architectural style. No pretensions. Wonderful breakfast/brunch with the best croissants ever! Nice glass of complimentary wine every evening. They suggested the best restaurants and made all the reservations.Would definitely return. Hopefully one day!

Recently returned from our second stay and Le Citizen continues to impress. The staff are great, the rooms are open, airy and filled with light (get a Zen Suite for more space), and the neighborhood location is prime. Is there a better corner to sit with a cup of tea and watch Paris roll by? I doubt it. Close to... More

This hotel was perfect! I loved how small of a hotel it was, because the concierges and maid services and I got to know each other. They were all very friendly and knew of great restaurants/bars/sights in the area. Also, the little restaurant that was attached was great- the breakfast was an all you can eat style bar with amazing... More

I am a very well travelled person and I am also a career hospitality professional. I made a reservation at LC as a result of a bad AirBnB experience which left me without my funky flat in Montmartre (a very different review!). So, my train arrived in Gare du Nord at 2100. We walled a short and easy 15 mins... More

This is a lovely hotel tucked in the upbeat canal district close to all transportation means. The area is lively with restaurants, shops, cinema, and romantic areas along the canal. With gracious service from smiling reception, we enjoyed the tastefully furnished and cozy room we stayed in. It was quite inviting and peaceful after a long day out. Would recommend... More

I stayed at Le Citizen as I wanted somewhere affordable that was near to the station and to Le Bataclan as I had come to see a gig there. The location is great, an easy walk from Gare du Nord and within easy walking distance of a number of Metro stops. I really liked the canal side location - getting... More

Staying in Canal Saint-Martin

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Saint-Martin
The tree-lined Canal Saint-Martin is the focal point of one of the most romantic and hip areas of Paris. Watch boats travel along the canal while lovers and friends take in the atmosphere from the banks or the bridges. Evenings see hoards fill the embankments to drink wine and enjoy good company. The colder days lead people to hipster bars, cozy restaurants, and concert spaces. Those who are more adventurous may explore hidden gems down nearby streets, from local bars to futuristic architecture. With its enriching mix of people of all ages and backgrounds, this neighborhood has a dynamic, inspiring vibe.
