We stayed for 3 nights after the Easter break. The rooms were good, though not enormous, but with tasteful decor and clean. On the first morning I think they were a member of staff short at breakfast, but even so it was served with a smile. Plenty of eating houses within a short walk and a lovely atmosphere. I'd certainly... More

Situated on a side street, this lovely small hotel is ideal for sightseeing in Paris. About three minutes walk from St. Paul metro, near the bus stop for open top bus tour, surrounded by streets with a wide selection of restaurants, cafe's etc... Our twin room was small, but perfectly adequate. Good comfortable beds, very clean, lovely shower. The room... More

The more times I stay in Paris, the more I realize, I will never really be able to afford a great hotel in this amazing city. The Grand Hotel Malher was solidly decent, but nothing really exciting. --The bedding was clean and nice and the bed was very comfortable. --We upgraded to a room with a bathtub, which I loved... From my experience, this is by far the best 3 star hotel in the Marais, located in a vibrant neighborhood, near the St. Paul Metro Station, and a short walk to the Place de Vosges, the newly opened Picasso museum and numerous fine restaurants, brasseries & bistros and eclectic boutiques. The bed is super comfortable, with fine quality linens. The... More

We really loved this hotel. It was really charming, modern French and in a very gorgeous, clean location. It is a small hotel but it's decor and feel is just divine - good size bathrooms and loved opening the window looking out on the street.

We arrived at around 9pm and were greeted with a friendly face. Check in was super quick and we were on our way up to our room. Note the lift is small but works well. My husband and two big suitcases made the first trip up to our room on the 4th floor while the carry on and I went... More

In 1987 my daughter and I spent several days in Paris and stayed in the Grand Hotel Mahler. This is long before the modernization, but it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is in the perfect location in the Marais.....can't get better than that. I am planning a trip to Paris in mid November and hope to stay in this... More

I stayed here over Christmas with my sister on her first trip to Paris. We had a very enjoyable time in this hotel, with a comfortable room that was warm in the cold temperatures, and had a lovely view of the street below. Whilst traffic noise will always occur, (sirens and such), the overall general traffic was not obvious in... More

The Grand Hotel Malher was a great, small hotel to base my Paris explorations out of. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff lovely and the location is fantastic, especially for the price. There is a taxi rank and the entrance to the metro about 100 feet away. So many great parts of Paris are easily walkable from here.... More

My mother and I spent time in Paris late October 2014. Hotel Malher was fantastic! The staff were great, spoke English, and super helpful. In fact, we had an issue booking a train and they took time, let me use their computer, and directed me ultimately to the closest location to figure it all out. The rooms are very nice... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
