In 1987 my daughter and I spent several days in Paris and stayed in the Grand Hotel Mahler. This is long before the modernization, but it was a wonderful experience. The hotel is in the perfect location in the Marais.....can't get better than that. I am planning a trip to Paris in mid November and hope to stay in this... More

I stayed here over Christmas with my sister on her first trip to Paris. We had a very enjoyable time in this hotel, with a comfortable room that was warm in the cold temperatures, and had a lovely view of the street below. Whilst traffic noise will always occur, (sirens and such), the overall general traffic was not obvious in... More

The Grand Hotel Malher was a great, small hotel to base my Paris explorations out of. The rooms are clean and modern, the staff lovely and the location is fantastic, especially for the price. There is a taxi rank and the entrance to the metro about 100 feet away. So many great parts of Paris are easily walkable from here.... More

My mother and I spent time in Paris late October 2014. Hotel Malher was fantastic! The staff were great, spoke English, and super helpful. In fact, we had an issue booking a train and they took time, let me use their computer, and directed me ultimately to the closest location to figure it all out. The rooms are very nice... More

It is the best choice to stay close to most attractions . Metro fifty meters away, also the main street in thirty-five meters and several restaurants, cafe etc. The price of the room was the best compared to quality. It was very clean and nicely decorated. We recommended unconditionally.

What a lovely place. The city of love, I love Paris as much as I love Grand Hotel Mahler. Great staff, everyone is so polite and very friendly, Everyone at the front desk speaks fluent english. The rooms are very clean and neat. The location is perfect: My wife and I walked every day and night. Wonderful restaurants right next... More

So I love the city of light, and have been visiting for over 30 years. I've stayed with friends and hotels in lots of different parts of the city, but I like to stay in the marais or st germain because I know my way around (kind of) and there are lots of those little independent shops that differentiate Paris... I would definitely recommend staying here! The rooms are a fantastic size (especially for Paris!) and the beds incredibly comfortable! The bathroom is modern, bright, clean and a good size. The hotel is only moments from a metro station and is in a lovely part of the city.

The location of the Grand Hotel Malher can't be beat. It is steps from the St. Paul Metro, which is a line with many stops at major Paris attractions, but the hotel was so convenient, we generally walked to many of them. The building is very, very old and quaint, but the rooms are very up-to-date and attractive, with powerful... More

We found this on TripAdvisor and decided it would be the perfect place to stay. It was. Very helpful staff with good English, nice rooms and a good breakfast if you wanted to eat in but also close to lots of other places for breakfast or dinner.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
