Clean functional rooms with modern bathrooms. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent location. My only complaint was that the rooms were overheated. The temperature was set at 31C when we arrived for some reason. We lowered the thermostat to 16C and opened the windows when we were in the room, but the room remained very warm to the point... This small hotel is a budget treasure in the Marais. The décor is a nice mix of modern and traditional styles, and the hotel has a lovely old-fashioned quality: one of the managers grew up having Sunday dinners at the hotel as a child! I asked for a quiet room and was given one of the quietest in the hotel,... More

The hotel has been newly renovated. I liked their bathrooms - very modern and functional and designed well - the room although small had comfortable beds. Very close to Metro st Paul and the best of the Marais. I would stay there again.

I booked a two night stay (breakfast not included) and requested a quiet room as I'd read reviews that the street facing rooms could be quite noisy. Upon arrival, the check-in was efficient and my double room superior with bath, while a little tired looking, was very clean, calming and a decent size for one. It would also be spacious... More

We absolutely loved our stay at the Grand Malher. Yes, the room was small (duh, you're in Paris!)but the decor was simple & nice and the room itself immaculate. The only thing I wished for in the room were hooks. I would have liked a few in the bathroom. The hotel itself was charming and PERFECTLY located. Right near the metro... More

I stayed at the grand hotel Mather in Paris for NYE with my girlfriend, we were both very surprised with how cool but also welcoming the hotel was. The surrounding area is filled with lovely little cafe bars and boutique shops. The hotel was about 15/20min walk to the louve. We would definitely stay again!

My daughter and I spent six nights at the Grand Hotel Malher and were very happy with the choice. The location can't be beat. It's in my favorite neighborhood in Paris, the Marais, and just a block from a Metro station. Rue des Rosiers is just around the corner, and Place des Vosges is just a few blocks away. There... This should not be a surprise, the hotel is great! the room was very clean, comfy form bed and updated bathroom, I'm actually here right now. The only and major setback was that the hotel reception did not honor my reservation with room facing the street, the front desk answer was that they were full. Well, I made my reservation... More

Perfect location, close to St. Paul metro stop, in the Marais neighborhood. Steps from the unique, medieval streets that survived the boulevardization of Paris. Easy walks to Notre Dame, Place des Vosges, Marche des Enfants Rouges, Louvre, and everything in between. Clean and modern room and bathroom. Lift/elevator available. Great place to come "home" to after a day of touring... More

If you are looking for a hotel in a very cool Parisian neighborhood with narrow, winding streets and lots of cafes and boutiques that is not too touristy, this is it! Grand Hotel Malher is an affordable hotel with rooms that are pretty small (but typical for old European hotels) but with nice size bathrooms that have been recently renovated... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
