We have stayed in about 6 hotels in the Marais over the last 15 years, always trying to find the perfect one and while they're all good, each was wanting in some respect. Now we think we have found what we've been looking for. We had a spacious double room overlooking Rue Jarente and with the window closed there is... More

I loved being in the heart of the Marais and in walking distance to so many sights. The hotel was also close to the metro, restaurants and shops. The staff was very helpful and had a variety of maps and info to peruse. I thought my room was a good size and the bathroom was huge! I didn't purchase breakfast.... More

The hotel is quite cute; some rooms are really nice some others much less; but the location is great (le Marais) and the price/quality is definitely not bad for this part of Paris. Service is good; it is a good 2 stars.

I have been staying at this lovely hotel for several years (at least 10-15). I came initially as a recommendation from R Steeves, but have returned year after year because of its friendly, accommodating staff (especially Stephane) and dynamite location. The rooms are comfy, albeit small in the Paris tradition It is in a lovely quiet square close the metro,... More

Hotel Jeanne D'Arc was recommended in Rick Steve's guidebooks (an American Tourist Expert) so my wife and I were quite excited about our stay. Unfortunately our experience was a little bit disappointing. I'll break out the good and bad below. The Good - The Neighborhood - We visited Paris in between Christmas and New Years. The tourist sites were extremely... More

Nice little hotel in one of the most perfect locations in Paris: close to Place de Voges in the Marais neighborhood. Very central, walking distance to two metro lines that take you anywhere within the city, surrounded by great shops and little restaurants (more atmospheric than really good food - but still). Breakfast is typically French: croissant, baguette, some jam.... More

My brother had stayed there early last year and recommended it to us because of its location, price and friendliness. It is very close to Rue St. Antoine and metro station St. Paul. We walked to the Left Bank and Notre Dame. We took bus 85 from Le Chatelet to St. Ouen's Flea Markets on the Sunday. Travelling by bus... More

I loved this place, which was recommended by a friend. The price made me a little nervous before I went - what, 72 euros for a single in downtown PARIS? - but it turned out to be one of those travel miracles. Walking to the Seine early in the morning? The Marais neighborhood? All wonderful discoveries. That said, I could... More

This is a charming establishment. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms modern and also a good size. It is in a brilliant position close to the Metro and a short walk to the beautiful Place Des Vosges. The staff are welcoming and very helpful and speak excellent English. There are many restaurants and shops nearby and the... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
