Nice little hotel in one of the most perfect locations in Paris: close to Place de Voges in the Marais neighborhood. Very central, walking distance to two metro lines that take you anywhere within the city, surrounded by great shops and little restaurants (more atmospheric than really good food - but still). Breakfast is typically French: croissant, baguette, some jam.... More

My brother had stayed there early last year and recommended it to us because of its location, price and friendliness. It is very close to Rue St. Antoine and metro station St. Paul. We walked to the Left Bank and Notre Dame. We took bus 85 from Le Chatelet to St. Ouen's Flea Markets on the Sunday. Travelling by bus... More

I loved this place, which was recommended by a friend. The price made me a little nervous before I went - what, 72 euros for a single in downtown PARIS? - but it turned out to be one of those travel miracles. Walking to the Seine early in the morning? The Marais neighborhood? All wonderful discoveries. That said, I could... More

This is a charming establishment. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms modern and also a good size. It is in a brilliant position close to the Metro and a short walk to the beautiful Place Des Vosges. The staff are welcoming and very helpful and speak excellent English. There are many restaurants and shops nearby and the... More

Originally I had planned to stay at a hotel near Rue Mouffetard in the in the 5th E, but we decided to try a different area so we picked the Jeanne D'Arc in the 4th. We are very happy with that decision. We try to find small, local hotels, and that can be a bit of a challenge. In this... More

We recently spent 5 nights at this hotel. It was our second stay there. Hotel Jeanne d'Arc has an excellent location in the Marais district. Many of Paris' major attractions are within walking distance and if you wish to explore further, a few steps away on Rue de Rivoli are the Metro, buses and a taxi rank. It is a... More

I have stayed here several times and it keeps getting better. The location, in the heart of le Marais, is perfect. Many of the major points of interest such as the Pompidou Centre, Notre Dame, Ile St Louis, the Left Bank are an easy walking distance. There are plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants and shops just outside the hotel and... More

Hotel Jeanne d'Arc was perfect for our 4-day stay in Paris in September 2014. The location is really excellent; having Le Marais as a home base is really ideal as there are many great restaurants and shops nearby but it does not feel super touristy either. The hotel is also near a great little square, Place du Marche Sainte Catherine.... More

I am sad that there are past reviews being shown that are so negative. This is a wonderful, quirky hotel, with lovely staff and everything we could want in the best area in Paris. A bonus is the Bar de Jarente next door. It has become like a second home for us after eighteen years of staying twice a year.... More

We were returning customers. We booked in December for 5 nights in September (directly through the hotel website). We sent the hotel an email stating we would be arriving after 9 pm. The email was acknowledged. Upon arrival we were put in a room where the window faced a shaft. (no natural light whatsoever) The room was so small our... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighorhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
