An absolute treat to stay here! Perfect location, expert staff, impeccable service, beautiful rooms, well-equipped baths, wonderful breakfast. Located on a quiet side street, you are still so close to shops, restaurants, and major attractions. (Notre Dame is about a 10-15 walk.) We will definitely return.

We stayed here on our last night in Paris. I wish we stayed here for our entire trip. The whole feel of the hotel was traditional Paris. The service was impeccable and everyone working there was extremely friendly. Compared to our other hotel the room was huge. The bed was very comfortable. We loved facing the courtyard. The only thing... More

We have been searching for a "go-to" hotel in Paris and after staying here, this is it. We will definitely be back. Everything was perfect from the time we checked in to the time we left. The room was extremely clean and they had a chilled bottle of champagne with nuts ready for us when we arrived in our room.... More

Well furnished and expertly staffed place on a quiet back street of Paris 75007, a most desirable Left Bank location. Hotel is most elegantly appointed, with lush back garden. Excellent breakfast available with all the trimmings. Quite unlike two bits Paris hotels I have had the misfortune to stay at. If the Left Bank is your thing, this is a... More

This was our first trip to Paris and we were absolutely thrilled with l'Abbaye. From the moment we contacted the hotel with numerous questions, they graciously replied immediately and sincerely wanted to assist us in making sure everything was answered. They even handled making dinner reservations and recommendations before we arrived. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, clean and tastefully... More

We stayed at Hotel de l'Abbaye for two nights at the recommendation of my godparents, who stay there almost every year. We had a great experience! The hotel is everything it claims to be and more. The breakfast (and breakfast area) is wonderful. The hotel is set off a fairly quiet street in the heart of Saint-Germain, so is peaceful,... More

I have to say this is one of the most charming and elegant hotels in which I have ever stayed. My suite was like a tiny house in the hotel and the bedroom had a wonderful leafy terrace overlooking the rooftops of St Germain (I'm including some photos). There is a wonderful lounge area downstairs, a beautiful leafy kind of... More

My husband and I spent the first few days of our Paris vacation in a charming 3-star hotel in Le Marais and were looking forward to moving over to L'Abbaye. We were not disappointed! We arrived at 10 am and the front desk staff apologized that our room was not quite ready (we never expected it would be!) and were... More

This is one of the nicer hotels in Paris in this price range. It is NOT, as you so often hear about Paris hotels, tired or worn. Rather, it is being maintained in top notch condition. Our room was a "Classic" room which was small, but well-appointed and very comfortable. The common areas are very well maintained. The garden is... More

This was my tenth visit to Paris and my first stay at the Hotel de l'Abbaye. I am already looking forward to my next stay at this charming Left Bank hotel. The staff were so warm and welcoming, I immediately felt like I was home. I so enjoyed the meal room and the breakfast was just perfect. My room was... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
