We spent ten days at this wonderful hotel. The room was comfortable, bright and well appointed. The windows opened onto the front courtyard, although with air-conditioning one could opt for either fresh air or cool air. The small elevator was an added plus. Breakfast was lovely and served in the enclosed lovely garden patio as well as in the glass... More

My daughter and I stayed for only one night, after 3 nights at another hotel. This hotel is a gem, perfect location on the left bank, friendly and attentive staff, immaculate rooms and beautiful lounge/sun room/patio. Next time this will be "the" hotel.

Beautiful building, amazing location, attentive staff. A favorite in Paris. I've been going for almost 20 years. It's a serene spot in a busy section of Paris. If you get a room facing the courtyard, you only hear the birds signing in the mornings. Wonderful. Merci à la Direction !

For the record, I stay in hotels somewhere between 75-100 nights a year, mostly for business. I tend to stick to the big US chains because I know what I am getting as a business traveller. However, when it is time for vacation I love to find hotels like this, which I found via TripAdvisor. I wanted something smaller with... More

We stayed at Hotel de l'Abbaye for one night prior to taking a Seine river cruise to Normandy in June. We really loved the hotel. It is warm and charming. The rooms, though small, are very nicely done. The lounge areas and courtyards are lovely and provide nice places to sit and have a coffee after a day of touring.... More

We picked this hotel by looking at reviews in our chosen area. We were celebrating a golden wedding anniversary and needed rooms for 14 family and friends that was quiet and comfortable but that had atmosphere. We arrived from a cold and windy London to a sunny, peaceful patio garden area where we enjoyed our first bottle of white wine,... More

For the past 30 years I have been searching, not regularly, for a hotel in Paris which I could return to. I came so close with this one. Great location on Left Bank, close to St Sulpice, great shopping, good restaurants close by and you can walk to all the sights on the river. Service is excellent, beautiful building, not... More

An absolute treat to stay here! Perfect location, expert staff, impeccable service, beautiful rooms, well-equipped baths, wonderful breakfast. Located on a quiet side street, you are still so close to shops, restaurants, and major attractions. (Notre Dame is about a 10-15 walk.) We will definitely return.

We stayed here on our last night in Paris. I wish we stayed here for our entire trip. The whole feel of the hotel was traditional Paris. The service was impeccable and everyone working there was extremely friendly. Compared to our other hotel the room was huge. The bed was very comfortable. We loved facing the courtyard. The only thing... More

We have been searching for a "go-to" hotel in Paris and after staying here, this is it. We will definitely be back. Everything was perfect from the time we checked in to the time we left. The room was extremely clean and they had a chilled bottle of champagne with nuts ready for us when we arrived in our room.... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
