I have just spent 5 nights at L'Hotel de l'Abbaye and I enjoyed every minute. Nice people, nice lobby with a chimney, nice bar where you can be served a snack till midnight by a very handsome "butler", nice breakfast, nice bedroom that could be larger, everything was fine I was feeling home I will come back since the area is my... Extremely comfortable, well-heated and quiet bedrooms, though rather compact - suited our two-night stay perfectly, storage space may be limited if staying longer. Attractive lounges, memorable open fire. Charming warm garden room even in depth of winter, small inner courtyard garden with melodiously trickling fountain is unusual and rather special. Nicely served French breakfast. Though we've never eaten a bigger... More

I was dwelling this time between 4 and 5 point for rating, but overall experience and kindness of staff prevailed. This was our second stay in two years, and all that has been said in the previous review still stands. This time since we had a junior suite, there was more space to relax, have breakfast in our room etc.... More

In a word , it's very comfortable stay . very good location for night life, shopping and usual sight seeing . I hope that petit breakfast should be a little more supplied and decorated with eggs , hams and other food , Not just a French style of simple breakfast .

Absolutely love this hotel! This hotel to me is what I think of when I think "Paris"! Each room is slightly different in decor, however the one we stayed in had a cheerful floral pattern (chic - not cheesy) with a wallpaper to coordinate. There was a small wardrobe on either side of the bed. The bathroom was small BUT... More

I spent four nights at the Hotel de l’Abbaye in September 2014. I highly recommend the hotel. I have been travelling to Paris for some 30 years, and have stayed in quite a few hotels over that time. I’ve generally had very pleasant stays, at hotels that I’ve rated fairly favorably (see, for example, my positive review of the Hotel... More

This was our 2nd stay at the hotel and it was just as fabulous as the first time. I am so very p,eased to say that nothing has changed, not even the team, which is testamount to the service and importance of the guest. I absolutely would not stay anywhere else when in Paris. Close to St Sulpice, Luxembourg Gardens,... More

We have stayed at Hotel de l'Abbaye since it opened 35+ years ago, and have loved it from our very first visit. The service, superb from the beginning, has remained top-notch, with much of the same staff still there. It was heartening to be greeted with warm handshakes by all upon our arrival this trip, and offered many small kindnesses... More

Excellent hotel. Clean, quite, with personnel who willing to help you. If I have to say something against it is only about the limited choices in breakfast and dinner. But again, you are in Paris...so the choices are endless !

We just returned from 4 terrific nights in Paris at the Hotel de l'Abbaye. The hotel is lovely, terrific location, wonderful staff and the rooms are delightful. We will definitely return on our next visit. It is an elegant gem in the Saint-Germaine.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
