We returned to L'Hotel d'Abbaye on a recent visit to Paris. With so many options, we were a bit hesitant to book a second stay, but we were glad we made the decision. While the hotel is conveniently located and near the metro, once you step off the street into the courtyard you enter sanctuary. The staff is friendly, helpful... More

This was my seventh visit to Paris and, without question, L'Hotel d'Abbaye was the most enjoyable hotel at which I have stayed over these many years. While all the hotels at which I have stayed have been absolutely acceptable, L'Hotel d'Abbaye is extraordinary b/c it exemplifies so many qualities for which one looks in a hotel--superior location, beautiful structure, superlative... My wife and I could not have been happier with our stay during the week of March 18th. The reviews do not lie, this is one of the most charming boutique hotels we have stayed in Europe, not only is the hotel beautiful, with great room amenities, but the staff went out of their way to make our week in... I last stayed at this hotel in August 1988 on my honeymoon, and returned to Paris with my 21-year-old daughter. What a lovely hotel--luxuriously comfortable, quiet, close to everything. The staff always made us feel welcome and special. The petit dejeuner was always something to look forward to after a wonderful night's sleep in our cozy room.

This is a quaint hotel in what used to be an abbey as I was told. The situation is excellent, with a metro station a couple of blocks from the hotel, and a couple others within a walking distance. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. The personnel was very helpful and efficient. The rooms are comfortable although small by american... More

Last week, two well-travelled couples were pleased to enjoy what is probably our best ever Paris adveture. Close to the storied Luxembourg Gardens, the square at Ste. Sulpice and the shopping and dining meccas of Blvd. Respell and Blvd. Ste. Germaine, the hotel affords newcomers and Francophiles ample opportunity to shop 'til they drop, dine casually or formally, and generally... More

A friend and I spent 2 nights at L'Abbaye this past week (March, 2015). This my 3rd time back to L'Abbaye and the experience was excellent once again. The hotel is well located, the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful and made us feel so welcome. The public rooms are warm and inviting and the rooms themselves are stylish and... More

Quiet hotels are hard to come by in Paris, and I have been coming to the Hotel de l'Abbaye now for years. The front entrance is set in from the street, and it is has a courtyard in the back. Rooms in the back are super quiet and even those in the front are okay. The hotel is quaint, very... More

We, my wife and myself, do travel to Paris at least four times per year for the business reasons. Usually we have been staying in one very nice hotel too, but this time we choose this new experience. What a great experience as the total stay of 3 nights in the hotel. The room was very nice, stylish and clean... More

We were in Paris for 4 days around the weekend and wanted somewhere tranquil inside but near to attractions and restaurants outside. This hotel absolutely hit the spot and we couldn't fault it. The staff were endlessly friendly and courteous, the accommodation was fabulously neat and pristine and the bar / breakfast area very welcoming. We didn't have snacks in... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
