This was my second stay here, this time for a week. You enter into a quiet, jewel-toned lobby with their signature scent candles burning. The entire staff looks like they've stepped out of a model shoot. They are professional and helpful with dinner recommendations and getting reservations. They speak perfect English but will also indulge attempts at speaking French. The... More

If you want a boring, vanilla hotel, where you are treated as a number, then this is not the place for you. We were made to feel both welcomed and valued. This is one of the best locations in Paris for that real 'local vibe'. It was a short stay this time, but I look forward to coming back again... More

If you want to experience a Parisian dollhouse, check out the toy department at the Galleries Lafayette department store just down the street. Otherwise, avoid this ridiculous little hotel. I've stayed in places with small rooms before (The Paramount or The Hudson in NYC for instance). But these hotels at least offered great lobbies and restaurants to compensate for the... More

Dear cstaples, Thank you for sharing your thoughts following your stay at hotel Bourg Tibourg. We are very sad that the hotel did not answer your expectations and we completely understand that the particularities of old french neighborhoods and buildings are not in line with everyone's tastes. Indeed hotel Bourg Tibourg is located in the Marais (one of the oldest... More

We loved our stay at Hotel Bourg Tibourg. The hotel was immaculate and the staff were brilliant. The room was small but that was expected as the hotel is in an original building in Le Marais, rather than a modern, purpose built, building. Whilst small, the room was plenty big enough for the two of us and the cosiness of... More

I stayed with a friend while visiting Maison&Objet fair. We had a room on the last floor and it was quiet and big enough for both of us for three days. I absolutely loved the place! Deco is very unique and something to remember later on. Customer service was excellent and staff helpful.

While I gree that the manager Abigail and her staff are very cordial and helpful, and thatthe hotel ahs been elegantly furnished, the rooms are much to small mfor a tay of more than 2/3 days; I stayed for six. Dear Etiennedubronx, First of all, the entire team thanks you for your feedback and is happy that you appreciated the service they provided while you were staying with us at hotel Bourg Tibourg. Having stayed in a number of hotels in Paris, including in the Marais, we decided to try Hotel Bourg Tibourg for a long weekend break. If you consider the Marais to be at the centre of Paris, as I do, you can do no better than stay at the hotel Bourg Tibourg. If you are used to, and expect, a Hilton or Trump don't bother. Apart from the wonderful Parisian atmosphere the highlight was the friendly and helpful staff. Their restaurant suggestions were superb and they booked them happily for us. We will come again. p.s. the place smells sublime. There is a charming interior garden

The hotel is definitely a quirky boutique hotel. The rooms are small - but quaint and very well appointed. There's a fully stocked mini bar - TV, Robes etc., so it feels more luxurious than the price would indicate. Great location in Marais - walking distance to Notre Dame. Staff are very helpful & welcoming.

Dear ELADMcDDF, Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment on your recent stay at hotel Bourg Tibourg. Jacques Garcia has lived in the Marais over 20 years, and he designed the hotel in a neo-gothic oriental way to be in relation with the area's history. As the Marais used to be the medieval center of Paris, this... More

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighborhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
