We stayed at the Pavillon de la Reine because Frommer's had it as the "most romantic hotel" in Paris and it also earned a TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2014. The hotel is located in the Le Marais, an area that's perfect to get lost in, and right across the Place des Vosges. The staff was very friendly and helped... More

We have stayed in this beautiful hotel now so many times we simply cannot remember, however after our most recent visit we wanted to write it up so we can share with everyone else just how special this hotel is. The service is impeccable, the rooms just beautiful and well appointed and it is truly a hotel that works on... More

As many have noted, location is ideal, setting charming. Room 31 was small by luxury hotel standards, but typical for Paris. Service was very good for the most part - breakfast team especially deserves mention, as does breakfast itself. However, after arriving back at my room cold and dripping wet at 3:30 in the afternoon I found the room not... More

Place des Voges makes for an amazing location for a hotel which is a pretty good start! I understand that this hotel recently went through a major refurb and it seems to have produced a really stylish, comfortable hotel with cozy public areas where you really feel "at home". This is what a "boutique hotel" really should be. So why... More

I've been looking for a decent hotel in Paris for many years that doesn't cost the earth to stay in and gives you more than a closet sized room. Everything about this hotel is wonderful. From it's marvelous location just off the Place des Voges (far enough back to quiet the din), to its welcoming lobby and the comfortable and... More

This was our first stay at the Pavilion de la Reine for at least 5 years, having switched to St Germain for most of our recent stays. It has had a few changes, all for the better. The reception areas are lovely and relaxed with a great log fire welcoming you after a long day shopping and museum visiting. The... More

We honeymooned here in 2002 and visited again in 2014. Both times - magical. The room was exceptional, the staff and service outstanding. there is a music school nearby and on a couple of afternoon you could hear a singer practicing or a violinist practicing. All contributed to a wonderfully peaceful stay in a busy city with lots to do.... More

We had the good fortune to spend 10 relaxing days here. It is the perfect oasis before and after each day of exploring Paris. The Marais is a great neighborhood with the newly renovated Picasso Museum now open (normally priced tickets available at hotel desk allowed us to skip the long line ) and Victor Hugo's home a very short distance... Spent one week here late October 2014 and it was really great (just a couple celebrating anniversary without the kids). The hotel is well maintained, well staffed and very centrally located. We walked everywhere from here, to the Louvre, St Germain, Nôtre Dame, Place de la Concorde, Arc d'Triomphe, Champs Élysées , Luxembourg Gardens, the Rodin Museum, Place Vendome and... More

Attentive staff, perfect rooms, in an oasis of calm within Paris. Had arranged for a flower arrangement before arrival for our 10th anniversary, and it was almost larger than the bed. Wonderful week long stay, only marred by spoiled American children uncontrolled by their parents at breakfast.

Staying in Le Marais

Neighborhood Profile
Le Marais
The Marais is a winding maze of multi-faceted streets that beg to be explored. It bursts with small boutiques, historic buildings, cozy traditional restaurants, and hidden parks. Around each corner, you'll come across little gems of architecture spanning the centuries, from understated medieval towers to classical libraries and 17th century splendor. This neighorhood unites a rich mix of people of all ages, but it's best known for the gay scene mostly in the south and the Jewish community around Rue des Rosiers.
