Our experience at Hotel Montalembert was exceptional. We were greeted at 6:00 A.M. (after a 9 hour flight from the states) by Sophie, who was professional and pleasant. Our room was ready, thank goodness, so we were able to find a small cafe for coffee and croissants, then off to bed for a nap. That afternoon, we began exploring the... More

Nothing positive to say about this hotel other than the friendly people. I was very surprised how good ratings this hotel has based on my experience. We were first greeted and found that the room wasn't ready and waited in the tiny lobby until we gave up. When we got back, we found our room to by small, uncomfortable, and... More

Very small but cute hotel with an unbeatable location. Rooms are small but cute and clean, great view of the Eiffel tower out our windows which was beautiful when it was lit up at night. Right next to so many wonderful places to eat, have coffee and people watch. Teeny tiny elevator that made me so claustrophobic I chose to... More

The Hotel Montalembert is an excellent hotel in an excellent location. The staff on the reception desk were very welcoming, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food and service at dinner were great too. The location was perfect to explore the heart of Paris. We will definitely return to this hotel.

Amazing location, beautiful suites, exceptional staff. Paris is expensive, but this hotel was on par with other quality hotels. We had a great view of the (top of the) Eiffel tower and the street scene below. Nothing was too much bother. Everything was classy and understated. No criticisms whatsoever.

Location, location, location…a big part of what I look for when booking a hotel in Paris is, “Can I walk to a good variety of restaurants at night and shops during the day?” Ordinarily I prefer to stay in the 6th arrondissement, but in fact, this location was the best of both worlds. The Hotel Montalembert is conveniently located right... More

This was a birthday treat and so we threw caution to the wind and booked three nights here, at some expense, largely because it is a hotel I was interested in as I am currently researching the lives of a group of 20th century Literati whose milieu was based in the area, and some of whose number were regular guests... My husband and I recently stayed in this hotel just off Blvd. St. Germaine in Paris's Left Bank area. Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
