This hotel had everything - wonderful, helpful staff; great location; safe; and clean. I would highly recommend it . Easy to get on the Metro and to walk to popular sites. Christine - Attorney from New Jersey

My room was a little bit small but comfortable. Also the hotel and my room was very clean. Room service was absolutely good. Location was great. I love this hotel! It takes 5 min. to Cafe Flore or La Bonmarche.

Small rooms and compact bathrooms (such is Paris). Modernist decor. Small but efficient restaurant, outdoor street level terrace with bar menu that was pleasant. Friendly, courteous staff. Clean and well run.

I have stayed at this hotel twice now on business and I love it. It's pared-back and chic and although the bedrooms are relatively small, they have a cosy feel. I adore the marbled bathrooms (again small but practical) and the one person elevator is an experience. The staff is super friendly and I particularly rate the Concierge who is... More

Dear chris2401, We would like to thank you for your loyalty towards our hotel and for your kind review. It is with pleasure that we will share it with our staff, especially our Concierge team. Our low calorie breakfast is a variant of our continental breakfast imagined by our Chef for our most health-conscious guests. In our strong will of... More

Great position, excellent staff. Very accommodating and charming. Room a little tired but charming. Note to hotel: A little update on rooms and your 5 stars would be warranted. Clean and good size though. Lovely bathroom. Would stay again. But love to try something different every time we go. Great nearby restaurant. Le 20. Small noisy. Paris bistro. Fabulous!!! &... More

We had an excellent few days at the Montalembert, which is a long-time favourite. The location is superb, with all the things we wanted to see and do (both on right and left banks) located within easy walking distance. The hotel itself is small, but perfectly formed and wearing well in terms of the public areas. The rooms are small,... More

I just returned for staying at this hotel and it was great .I booked a deluxe room on a high floor . The room was very cute but on the small side .the bed was too small for two people but we loved the room . The staff here were wonderful. Very friendly with no judgement of the "loud Americans... While the staff of the Hotel Montalembert was warm and welcoming, the hotel did not meet our expectations. The room was worn, the bed uncomfortable and for a deluxe room, very small. It was also very, very hot in the room and we could not adjust the temperature. The bathroom looked nice but the shower sprayed out of the tub... More

We stayed in a deluxe room which while small was well laid out and very pleasant. It is an old hotel and space has been used imaginatively. The location, staff and attention to detail were great. The only critic I have concerns the breakfast. As an Anglo Saxon, I like a hearty breakfast. I booked (on-line) a room with breakfast. Nothing... More

Great concierge. Toilet flushing is a problem. Arrive early for breakfast. Breakfast is mediocre but the price is hefty. Go to the corner cafe and have great breakfast for half the price. Ask the concierge for dinner or lunch alternatives, they are great. Elecators are slow. Room amenities are ok.

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
