3 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Was planning on staying here on either side of a Backroads Bicycling trip. Came with high expectations, left disappointed after transferring to the hotel next door and canceling our reservations at the back end. Had two nearby rooms on the 6th floor for the four of us (two older teens). The good: Check-in: Efficient and friendly, though a few glitches... More

Had a wonderful stay at this great jewel of a hotel in Paris. Sophie, the Concierge, was extremely helpful and patient with us, even with our multiple changes of plans. She recommended some wonderful places to eat and visit--her suggestions were spot on every time.

My daughter and I stayed here for 6 nights on our first trip to Paris. Very nice hotel with a great location. The staff was most helpful and very friendly. My only complaint would be that the air conditioning in our room did not cool it as well as we wanted but I realize that coming from the U.S. we... More

Great experience. Great location, great staff, great building...we loved it. My only complaint is the wifi, which was turtle slow when it worked at all. But I'm starting to think that Europe doesn't worry about internet too much. We had two children 6 yrs old with us.

Lovely exterior and lobby however Hotel Montalambert needs renovating! The standard and deluxe rooms I would rate as very poor (2 stars, not 5 star) definitely below standards. The rooms, furniture, decor, corridors, & carpets are tired and need changing. However, the staff were amazing...very professional, accommodating and pleasant. The location is excellent, away from the crowds yet a short... More

Excellent hotel, quiet, clean and nice! Perfect luxurious stay! I would highly recommend it. Breakfast and service were perfect. The terrace outside is also nice! It's very easy to go anywhere since the location is very central.

Left-bank location near Rue De Bac metro station, 5min walk to the Louvre and Musee d'Orsay. A supermarket right opposite the hotel is a plus. Friendly and very helpful staff who made my stay a great one. Lift goes up to 7th floor only. Short flight of steep stairs up to the 8th floor suites. Major renovation from Dec'15-Jan'16.

This was our second time staying at the Montalembert and it was amazing - we booked 2 rooms and were upgraded to the JFK suite on the top floor! The view of the Eiffel Tower at sunset was amazing - the concierge was pleasant and funny and had great restaurant recommendations! The location was within walking distance of great museums... More

We loved this hotel as the home base for our week in Paris. The staff is delightful and very, very helpful and pleasant. The front desk staff, the concierge, chambermaids, and restaurant staff are all friendly, pleasant and speak English very well. The location is brilliant; its walking distance to both the Musee D'Orsay and the Louvre, Les Invalid, Notre... More

Staying in Saint-Germain-des-Pres

Neighborhood Profile
Saint-Germain-des-Pres
In Saint-Germain-des-Prés, life is effortlessly chic and all things are beautiful. The main boulevard is dotted with famed terraced cafés, haut-couture shops, ivy-covered railings and fine-dining restaurants. Antique dealers and art galleries surround the fine art school and small museums hide in unassuming squares. The neighborhood’s namesake church is the oldest in Paris and is the backdrop for talented musicians every weekend. The Luxembourg Gardens house the national senate, splendid lawns and flourishing flower beds. Famous faces and bourgeois Parisians frequent Saint Germain accompanied by the students of Rue Saint Guillaume and Rue des Saints-Pères. This is a neighborhood where afternoon people-watching from a café or playing cards in a brasserie are a key part of the daily fabric.
