The location of this hotel is fantastic – a few min walk to a very well connected metro station. There are plenty of reasonable restaurants nearby great areas to eat in generally. The rooms are simple but very clean, comfortable and safe. The highlight of the hotel is definitely the staff though. Good English and Spanish, hugely helpful and generally... More

We arrived late and the night receptionist welcomed us warmly, our room was ready, very clean and calm, also the bed was comfortable which I find important. The staff was nice during all our 3 day stay, we visited Paris and had many lunches in the neighbourhood after in nice and cheap restaurant compare to other expensive districts. We loved... More

Well, this hotel located nearby la cite des sciences was to me a disappointement. My room was located on the street and it s so noisy !!!! It s almost impossible to sleep maybe the rooms in the back are not like the room 203. The room was small, the bed not confortable, not very clean it was clean but... More

Very close to metro, several restaurants and shops close-by Breakfast was typical for Paris, and was the standard price for Paris, unfortunate that the croissants and bread selection is limited The staff were friendly and helpful when checking in and checking out

Arrived home yesterday after 3 nights away at hotel le canal and it was not a bad experience I had no problems with the staff as they couldn't have done enough for me and my friend. On arrival we was shown a load of leaflets for things to do in the city. The location of the hotel is not central... More

Having just returned from our trip to Paris this hotel was definitely the lowest part. Our three person room had a horrible, dilapidated view, mouldy curtains and a bathroom where the sink was unstable, was unclean and had what looked like feces on the towel rack. It had obviously not been given a decent clean since the previous guests. The... More

The hotel is well located: near a subway station. The staff doesn´t make you feel very welcomed (a smile would help). The worst was the breakfast, that was very poor: we had to ask for more bread/croissants. It clearly doesn´t worth 9€/person.

I was visiting Paris with my husband and parents and we booked a "family room", which is 2 connecting hotel rooms, in order to stay together. Our credit card got charged before arriving. Upon our arrival, Juan, was there to welcome us and advised us that our hotel room had already been given to another family. He blamed the receptionist... More

We booked a deluxe room in this hotel because the photos we saw on the internet were showing a decent romantic hotel. We arrived in a non touristic and isolated district, and the hotel entrance was filthy and neglected. The whole cinema theme is only some posters on the walls, there is no view to the canal, the rooms are extremely small and... Staying in La Villette

Neighborhood Profile
La Villette
This futuristic landscape has come to define the northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to the futuristic space. Though on the outskirts of Paris, La Villette is worth the short Metro ride from the center.
