The hotel is well located: near a subway station. The staff doesn´t make you feel very welcomed (a smile would help). The worst was the breakfast, that was very poor: we had to ask for more bread/croissants. It clearly doesn´t worth 9€/person.

Me and my friend stayed here in November, i had accidently left some money in the hotel and rang the hotel the same day i had checked out and requested for it to be sent to me via western union or a money transfer bureau. The guy i spoke to said it would be fine and as it was the... More

I was visiting Paris with my husband and parents and we booked a "family room", which is 2 connecting hotel rooms, in order to stay together. Our credit card got charged before arriving. Upon our arrival, Juan, was there to welcome us and advised us that our hotel room had already been given to another family. He blamed the receptionist... More

We booked a deluxe room in this hotel because the photos we saw on the internet were showing a decent romantic hotel. We arrived in a non touristic and isolated district, and the hotel entrance was filthy and neglected. The whole cinema theme is only some posters on the walls, there is no view to the canal, the rooms are extremely small and... Hotel Le Canal is fab!!!! I've stayed there two years running and I'm sad not to be going back next year (2016 I'll be there and already can't wait) The rooms are small but fine for our needs, they are clean and bright and the beds are lovely and comfy. Not had a bad nights sleep at Hotel Le Canal but... The hotel itself is average, the decor on the official site says that it is heavily themed with the likes of Marilyn Monroe and i think it would indicate that this is how the rooms are decorated too, however that's not the case. The rooms are very plain and very very small. Purple walls with a red bed frame... A... More

We needed somewhere relatively inexpensive to stay for a short trip to Paris and this fit the bill. Despite arriving late at night we were greeted warmly by a gentleman who spoke English and gave us directions to all the places to eat in the area that would still be open at such a late hour. Our room was fairly... More

We stayed here for one night. And I'm glad it was only 1! The location is in the middle of nowhere. The room was tiny. No bar fridge, the toilet didn't flush, and after asking at reception, only to be told 'someone will be up soon to have a look - when the guy comes to relieve me', which never... More

This hotel is located in the centre of Paris with couple of steps away from the main river. Loads and loads or restaurants around along with many shopping centers and bakeries. Hotel was clean and hygienic. Staff was amazing where they have tried to squeeze their brains to speak English to us. Can't complain about their attitude. Furniture was very... More

Staying in La Villette

Neighborhood Profile
La Villette
This futuristic landscape has come to define the northeast of Paris. The Saint-Denis canal is framed with luscious lawns and metallic buildings over a wide-open space. Home to Europe's largest science museum, this area rewards daytime and nighttime explorations; there are three concert spaces, plus cinemas and bars, and even open-air cinema in the summer. The surrounding homes are a sharp contrast to the futuristic space. Though on the outskirts of Paris, La Villette is worth the short Metro ride from the center.
