I love this hotel. The multi-lingual staff are amazing and really take time to answer questions, make reservations, give directions etc. Décor is nice with interesting touches and the buffet breakfast is good. The area feels like real Paris - not just a tourist area. I thoroughly recommend The Joyce Hotel

We stayed 2 nights, our room was fantastic! Ladies do take your own hair dryer though! The beds were very comfortable. All the staff were amazing, very helpful and polite. They offer free refreshments in the afternoon and the breakfast was lovely. Great area to eat and reasonable prices unlike further down in the heart of the city. The metro... More

A brilliant small hotel in this vibrant district of Paris: unique interior design, extremely comfortable room and special touches like the 'open bar' ( juices, coffee, tea, fruit, tarte) for unwinding after sightseeing. Oh, and the day begins with excellent breakfast buffet served by friendly staff who care about how much you enjoy your stay.

We stayed for 1 night recently and really can't fault our stay at all. It has the feel of a boutique hotel but without the price tag - our room was spotless and looked recently, and tastefully, redecorated. Staff were helpful and friendly and the buffet breakfast was fine for the price. We liked the little touches like the car... More

From the moment we arrived the staff, in particular Douglas, were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble. A reservation had been made prior to our arrive for dinner, at an adjacent restaurant, as requested. We were immediately upgraded to Room 504 which has featured in TripAdvisor and it lived up to expectations. It was light, clean and beautifully decorated. There... More

On arrival the staff took time to sit with me and go through a map of the area, advising me on access to the Metro etc. The hotel was very clean and the room was nicely decorated and clean. Breakfast was good quality continental. Tea/coffee/soft drinks and pastries were available throughout the day too.

We came to Paris on the Orient Express then stayed for three nights. Our first night we were in room 3 which was large but no windows. The hotel moved us with no fuss to 204 which was spacious and had large windows looking out onto the street. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the location was great... More

We've always found tripadvisor helpful, and tend to agree with most of the reviews. However, contrary to all the glowing reviews, we had a really horrible stay. Either our room was very different from all the others in the hotel, or everyone else has really low expectations. The experience was so horrible that we were both in a pretty bad... More

First, the staff is the best. From Douglas at the desk, to the ladies in the breakfast room. By the end of the week they greeted us like family, with a kiss on the cheek, and a cheerful Bonjour. The room was surprisingly big for Paris, and wonderfully clean and decorated. The desk was always helpful with, directions and recommendations. The... More

The staff is outstanding and service was incredible. The room was a really nice size as was the bed which is not what I've normally found in Paris. The hotel is in a not to touristy of a neighborhood, which is nice, and the breakfast and day long snacks are a great benefit. One thing to be careful of. When... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
