We arrived a couple of hours early to Hotel Joyce, and were lucky enough that our room was ready to check in. The reception staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, and spoke excellent English; nothing was too much trouble for them. We were given maps and wifi codes on arrival, and offered drinks in reception whilst they explained the local... More

We arrived a little early to the hotel and were made to feel extremely welcome from the moment we stepped through the doors. Nothing was too much trouble. The very lovely Edward took the time to get us coffees and pastries while he explained that we could check in from 2pm, took our bags to store and showed us the... More

I stayed here for a weekend in December 2014. My twin room was spacious, well-insulated, comfortable and quiet, despite being near the stairs on the first floor. The bathroom was well-appointed. The breakfast buffet, included in the room rate, was varied and of high quality. I enjoyed the hotel's diverse and individual decor and was impressed by the attentiveness of... More

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights in December 2014. 3 metro links within a 10 minute walk so good links to all locations. The hotel is exceptionally clean, modern, rooms (ours anyway) a good size. The breakfast was excellent, The hotel's greatest asset though is its staff. Upon arrival we were taken to one side for check-in... More

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights during a business trip to Paris in early December. While the property is located in a historical building in the 9th arrondissement, the interiors are uncluttered, bright and contemporary. I loved the graphic wallpaper, original artwork and thoughtful design details like the metallic tiles in the shower. The included breakfast of quiche... More

Staying in Opera / Bourse

Neighborhood Profile
Opera / Bourse
The neighborhood around Opéra and Bourse is a belle époque paradise of grand boulevards, refined arcades, and mass-market art-nouveau entertainment. Here, modern day workers continue to take advantage of the legacy that nobility and finance left in the 19th century. Brightly-lit brasseries, theaters, and cinemas sit side by side with French bistros predominating in one area and Japanese restaurants in another. The area is most famous for the Palais Garnier opera house and glamorous department stores.
