We were in Paris last November and January. At first we had a room at the B&B. The host is nice, speaks well in English and knows his way around. He is happy to suggest you, things to do, not only what every tourist visit but places where the local hangs as well. Good french style breakfast, that's a great... More

I stayed with the charming Ghislain at his wonderful home in Paris for three nights in April, 2011. The B&B is literally his home on the third floor of a building one block from Pompidou Center. While I stayed there Ghislain slept on the couch in his living room. He made breakfast for us, gave us travel tips, directions, and... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Notre dame studio. It was fully-equipped--the kitchen had two burners, microwave, and refrigerator; the bathroom included a hair dryer and towel warmer; and the main room had an iPod dock, comfortable bed, individual bedside reading lights, and more! Ghislain had everything we could need already provided, including pots and pans and an umbrella.... More

The central location is the main advantage of this B&B, but also the apartment is very spacious and clean. The host is very nice and helpful to give us good touristic advises. Many bars and restaurants are around the B&B. And the croissants are so good in the morning :)

I needed to book a stay in Paris on quite short notice for an audition and was dismayed by the lack of affordable centrally located accommodation. I found out about the Chambre d'Hotes Delareynie through a link from another B&B. There seems to be quite a little network of these B&Bs run by ex-pats from Quebec. The location was suberb... More

Staying in Les Halles

Neighborhood Profile
Les Halles
Historically the central iron-clad market of Paris, Les Halles has evolved architecturally since then but the pulsating energy has stayed the same. Now it houses the main shopping mall, which nestles underground surrounded by fast-food take-aways and international restaurants coupled with beautiful churches and the old commodity exchange. Parallel to it are the high-street stores of Rue de Rivoli and just parallel to that the Seine. The area bustles with faces from all continents and all ages at all times of the day. If enjoying high-street shopping with easy access to fast eateries and lively bars is on your agenda, this is the place to go.
