Where to even begin.. Me and my partner (23 and 25) arrived here for a 4 day stay, but I wouldn't have stayed here for 4 minutes had I known what it was going to be like. By far the worst hotel (more like a hostel) I've ever stayed in. the room wasn't big enough to swing a cat in,... More

They are in the process of remodeling all the rooms in this charming little hotel at the base of Montmartre. Walking distance to the Gare du Nord, Barbes Rochechouart Metro, and Sacre Coeur attractions, not to mention great little neighborhood cafes, used bookstores, and boutiques--you could do worse on a budget in Paris. The neighborhood is indeed lively and populated... More

We booked a double room through Travelocity and got a 30% reduction. If you're looking to be close to Barbes Rochechouart Metro/Gare du Nord and walking distance to Sacre Coeur and your budget is mid-range this is ideal. Supermarket, pharmacy, fast food nearby and hotel is undergoing total renovation. Only negative was lack of wardrobe space and shared toilet. No... More

Its not the best but its not the worst. I went with a song and a prayer when I landed in Paris after only reading the reviews a night before. I arrived to a not so ideal train station (does Paris really have any cute one's except for the Champs Elysees one), the location was not my ideal but it... More

This hotel is as bad as everyone says it is. If people say it is ok - i disagree.. From the moment we arrived in the area we knew it was bad, men were "dealing" on the street corner and groups of men gather in the streets offering iphones. Very intimidating and unpleasant. We knew going, that the area wasn't... More

I was 2 weeks ago in Paris. I didnt have so much time to book something in advance. So when i booked i read internet comments and where ok. The Hotel is under remodelation, but as you stay all day out it dosnt matter. Is like a Boutique hotel , small rooms (but ok for Paris) modern bathorooms. The bad... More

My boyfriend and I traveled to Paris for the Easter weekend. When I initially booked the hotel I had been in a rush and hadn't checked the reviews. My boyfriend then looked the hotel up on trip advisor and we were so upset to find that the majority of people had seriously disliked the hotel, and that it looked nothing... More

Okay, I'm a single woman in 30-ies, not used to luxury, basicly, I just wanted to visit Paris, not necessarily in luxury-level. The hotel is fine, if you are used to live in old apartments and if you are not loaded with lots of money. The staff is friendly, they speak enough English to be understood, and they are hepful... This hotel stinks! Within a few minutes of entering my room a mouse ran by my feet. I alerted the desk and they gave me a new room and said don't worry they will "put the product" There was no outlet in the dirty room and the toilets are in the stairwell. Also be prepared to be propositioned by prostitutes,... More

easy access to the train station. They did print our plane tickets off and lend us an iron. So that was good. Very little English spoken. it was a bed to sleep ON. Bring sleeping bags if you stay here. Rough neighbourhood. Toilets in stairwell. Bit of a dive. Look elsewhere

Staying in Montmartre

Neighborhood Profile
Montmartre is a bustling mix of cultures, colors, and styles which changes from one street to another. Ride the funicular (or, for a real workout, climb the steps) to the sublime Sacré-Coeur (Basilica of the Sacred Heart) with its inspiring view of the city. The church is surrounded by provincial streets and piano bars where tourists, artists, and street entertainers thrive. At the foot of the hill, Boulevard de Clichy features shops not intended for young audiences, while residences are scattered to the north and east. The diverse population includes a large part from the Arab-speaking world, Africa, and Turkey. It’s a corner of Paris full of life and dynamism with charms that can’t be found anywhere else.
