I think this was an average hostel, though this was my first experience staying in one; I suppose the idea is that if you're visiting the city of Paris, you won't be spending much time in your hotel/hostel room, so with that in mind, it was okay. Things to be aware of: 1. They do not provide any towels (in... More

I am a currently a customer of the hostel and I am staying in a private room for two people with private toilet and shower. It is by far a much worse than I expected! The building is really old and badly kept, the bed sheets that we got had stains, the basin leaks and the toilet is not in... More

This was my first time staying in a hostel and very happy to say it won't be my last! Exceeded my expectations; clean, safe, no noise, very central location. Staff could be friendlier, hell, I met such nice French people everywhere I went but not in the hostel. Anyways-It's a great location, I was able to walk everywhere and the... More

Great location. Not even a 5 minute walk to the Bastille, and surrounding métro stops. We walked to the Seine in about 15 mintues, and that was including the stop at the Boulangère for a baguette. Great resturaunts close by as well. As for the hostel, you get what you pay for... just watch out for your belongs and don't... More

We ordered the hostel with great anticipation. We were promised breakfast, air conditioning, bath, lift, TV and Internet and it looked good, lovely even. We ordered three beds and were really excited about this! .. But then we arrived.. The first night a mistake had been made and we couldn't share a room as we'd expected so one of us... More

The hostel is fantastic. I booked a single room and I was really happy with that. Nice breakfast, internet, shower inside the room. The team of people who works at hostel is really really good. P.S.: Everybody speaks in english :)

Stayed here in a private room for 3 nights. Private rooms are on the top floor so no noise which was nice. Great location, tons of bars around and close to 3 metros. Decently clean, bring flip flops for the shower as it was a bit scummy. No towels. Also they say when booking that most private rooms have a... More

I have stayed at numerous hostels throughout europe and I have generally had positive experiences. I wound up staying here because it seemed like good value for the money. the place is disgusting. the shower overflows everytime anyone used it. the toilet is in the hall and creepy. they don't give you your keys unless you show them your reciept... Booked a private room for 5 nights. Bed is an incredibly uncomfortable cheap spring bed, the room doesn't have a towel or proper sheets, for some reason the shower is in the same tiny room as the bed, the curtain doesn't cover the whole window. The hostel doesn't have a kitchen or a laundry. If I had the money I... More

I travelled Europe alone for a few weeks this summer. In Paris I was looking for an exciting time, good nightlife and young people to party with. Bastille Hostel did not disappoint. Right Next to lively entertainment, great food nearby and generally an awesome, younger crowd and oddly, tons of beautiful women. Its not luxury, its pretty dirty and its... More

Nestled between the Seine, Bastille, and Père Lachaise lies a peaceful side of town where wide avenues and impressive buildings accompany green spaces and small parks. Landscaped havens are plentiful, from the Bercy Park to La Coulée Verte and most impressively the Bois de Vincennes, which even contains a medieval castle on its doorstep. For an escape from the masses head to this calming neighborhood where real Parisians make their homes.
