We have just returned from a fantastic stay at the Les Jardin Du Roy! Good Points: - Transport links - very easy to access from airport via RER / Metro. - Location - very near the Seine - 15 minute walt to Notre Dam, 5 minute from the interesting Latin Quarter. Right next to the Jardin Du Plantes - lovely... More

We chose this accommodation after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed. We stayed in room 303 and had the most wonderful view of the illuminated skeletons at night from the museum across the road. The studio room was very spacious with a good sized kitchen area, perfect for eating breakfast. The microwave is very useful to... More

We were very happy with our studio apartment. Location is right next to Gare d'Austerlitz and easy walking distance of Notre Dame. Apartment is a good size, well equipped kitchen and large bed. Only problems were the lack of air conditioning and the poor pressure in the shower, meaning you couldn't really cool down much during a very hot spell!... More

I booked this place for a great price, and was pleasantly surprised! The rooms are quite large for Paris, and the kitchenette is handy for small meals. The hotel is a 15 minute walk to Notre Dame, and right beside the large Jardin du Plantes. Our room was on the 4th floor and was very quiet (for Paris standards). Good... More

I phoned the front desk and asked a top floor 2 weeks before arrival. The room I got was 504 facing the museum which is very good. Many thanks. We spent 7 days there and had a good vacation week in Paris. The room has a big space (comparing with other hotel rooms in Europe). We used the kitchen and... More

I stayed there during a business trip. Good value, centrally located - Notre Dame/Quartier Latin in walking distance. Gare D'Austerlitz only 300 m. Room to the court was relatively big, very quiet and had 2 single beds, which were appropriate. Cleanliness is edgy - on the surface it looks clean, but don't look into the corners... No breakfast available. Front... More

Excellent location right next to train station Gare d'Austerlitz (which access main airports) , Very short walk to the Islands, Bastille, and Bercy. The studios that face the street overlook the museum of the Jardin de les Plantes, very interesting at night to be looking to pre-historic creatures out of the window! Super market just around the corner, city rental... More

We were very pleased with our apartment at Les Jardins du Roy. The view into the Natural History museum is great for kids. Near to les Jardins du Plantes, the Seine, the Gare de Austerlitz and many buses. McDonalds is on the corner and there are a couple of restaurants and grocery stores nearby. We were happy with the location... More

If you are very particular about cleanliness this is not the place for you. We found long hairs in corners, in drawers, in the bathroom, clinging to the orange blankets, which where changed when asked. What we did like however, was the apartment's location-- next to the Natural History museum and the Jardin des Plantes. You can take bus routes... More

Staying in Quartier Latin

Neighborhood Profile
Quartier Latin
The Latin Quarter bursts with intellectual life, architectural splendor and ongoing merriment. The small streets are filled with classical buildings, student bars and lively eateries while the squares are dominated by historic monuments. The area is defined by the 800-year-old Sorbonne University, where Latin once prevailed, and is famous for the Pantheon which celebrates the great men and women of France. During the day students rush from classes to the library and intellectuals people watch from the terraced cafés. As night time falls the surrounding establishments fill up and the merriment really begins. The liveliest parts are around Rue Mouffetard, lined with crêperies and international street food eateries, and Place de la Contrescarpe characterised by terraced brasseries, this neighborhood provides real nourishment for the mind, belly, and soul.
