I spent the night of December 16th (2013) in Fontainebleau and stumbled across the Hotel Victoria while looking for somewhere to stop over on my way to the Cherbourg ferry after a long drive from Italy. I must say I found it very comfortable - reading some of the reviews, I seem to have been staying in the modern part... More

Really bac experience to 110 Euro pr. night. The location is really bad and everytime you need to go to the reception you have to walk on street. There is absolutely no fascilities and the hotel is really noisy. Bad choise

The location of this hotel is great. The Fontainebleau castle, city center and restaurant are only minutes away. They offer off street parking for €7. Wich is good value I think. Not all the rooms are renovated. We had room 102 wich is not renovated. The size of the room and bathroom are good but lots of things need improvement.... More

We stayed at the hotel in mid July, locating it after a short search. Obvious motivators were location, a short walk to centre and wifi in the room. The entrance and the reception area were nice but the room itself looked more like a Parisian student accommodation from the 70s. Poor furniture that had obviously seen better days 30 years... More

I've spend altogether over 2 months in Victoria during my studies at INSEAD and strongly recommend it for those who dislike business hotels. This one is just the opposite - imperfect in a homely way, relaxed, pleasantly and unpretentiously furnished. Well-sized and clean rooms - at least in "my wing", which is the one above the reception. What I like... More

We visited this hotel already twice and each time it is worth more - we highly apprediated the large well equipped rooms, very comfortable beds, nice furniture and very kind and helpful owners. It is very clean, calm and still very close, within walking distance to the center of Fontainebleau. We got the breakfast buffet even at 5 o'clock in... More

This quirky hotel was lovely. The staff were with out fault ,The breakfast was great, croissants jam eggs juice coffee tea etc. We had a big room with the lovely touches of vintage furniture which gave the room a real ambiance. The bed was comfy and large & the sheets good cotton. Downside very hard pillows!!! It was a little... More

If you're used to staying in large corporate style hotels you may struggle with this one. INSEAD put half of the class in the Victoria and it appears that not all the rooms were to the same standard. Mine had been upgraded, still undeniably simple, but functional and the owner/family were nice and helpful. We all complained to one another,... More

We were late in booking a hotel for my partner's 5 yr reunion and ended up being for to book at the Victoria as it was the only hotel with room availability. Based in some of the reviews we read on TA, our expectations were very low. We were utterly and positively surprised by what we found: the hotel is... More
