Well located in the center of Fontainebleau, the hotel napoleon has a fairly good and genuinely helpful staff. However that it is. I was put in a remote room that I had to access thru the hotel courtyard, and go up a tiny elevator, the room was smaller than the average, reminiscent of Parisian hotels, where every inch is worth... We stayed at The Napoleon Hotel for one night. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. Hotel offers a discounted rate at the nearby secure underground parking (Parking Napoleon) and the hotel can add the charge to your final bill. The hotel is in a very good spot, only minutes from the Chateau and easy to... More

At about 40 miles south of Paris, the hotel has clean but modest rooms, an old bed (not great for those with back problems), with a complicated access to certain rooms through a labyrinth of corridors (and nobody to help carrying your bags neither on your way in nor on your way out). Small work station in the room and... More

We have just spent three nights at this beautiful old hotel with great ambience, a sense of history and a lovely courtyard. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the courtyard and we were able to sleep with the window open and all we could hear were the birds. There was plenty of light for reading too,... More

Historic hotel where they claim Napoleon once stayed! The restaurant is romantic and partially outside in the garden. This area once had housing for the horses. The breakfast was more than we expected for a French breakfast. It included juice, American coffee, rolls, cereals sausage, cold meats, cheese and fresh and canned fruits. The rooms were the usual small ones... More

For a moderately good fine dining experience this the place. Conveniently located on the main road in the shopping precinct & a short walk to the chateau. Excellent service; good, quality meals; comfortable seating; elegant decor. The menu for my liking was a little overpriced, but thats possibly due to the location and clientele of the town where it is... More

Stayed 3 nights as part of a business trip. Rooms were adequate for what was required. The restaurant was good quality and the location of the hotel was good for local tourist spots such as the palace and forest.

We stayed here because a client booked this hotel. The staff are very friendly but the hotel is very old; no toilet paper holder, lots of stains in the small room. There's a hole in the window for ventilation plus a separate AC-machine on the floor. Got bitten on many places on my body after sleeping only one night! Don't... More

Dear Madam, Dear Sir, Further to your review, we are sorry that you did not enjoy your stay in our Hotel Napoléon. Regarding the bed bugs, we can certify that you haven’t been beaten by that insect but probably by mosquitos which happens often as we are surrounded by the forest and river. Moreover, if you it was bed bugs,... More

Hotel Napoleon is not a good choice. On the positive: staff at the reception is smiling and helpful. Negatives: can't park in front for even a minute to off/up-load, small & low room, room needs serious renovation, bed is too small (and I am not specially tall...), room was noisy (bars' music, birds, machinery...), breakfast is what you'd expect in... The hotel is in a great location, walking distance from the castle, the shops, many lovely little restaurants. There is also an underground parking right next door with which they have a deal, so you pay less for leaving the car overnight (€10). The staff is lovely, smiling and welcoming. My room faced onto a very pleasant courtyard. BUT...as others... More
