Although we preferred the hotel in the early days, it still is a classic with good value for money. Nicely decorated rooms, very empire. Service is excellent. Breakfast is greta. Layout bathroom is not so good.

This hotel desires better scores than whatever bad written previously. We have stayed 3 nights, our room had a good space for 3* accommodation with the big bathroom. Usual attributes: coffee-maker, TV, Mini Bar, Land Line phone etc. All was clean! Another value was an absolutely friendly staff! The hotel has the old fashion but I think a beautiful design... I stayed here while attending an INSEAD course. The room is small but decent, and with a comfy bed and bathroom. It is conveniently located and in a beautiful building. The internet connection was often not properly working, which created issues to me and the other guests. Not sure I would stay there again.

Facilities in remarkably poor condition. Bathroom tiles broken, dirty. Fungus in shower -in the tub- screen etc. Woodwork/ paint dirty and chipped. Room extremely small and so are the beds that measure 190 cms, if that. Avoid this hotel if you are over 180 cms/6 ft tall. We were forced to switch hotels as it was impossible to sleep. Incredibly,... More

We returned our car to Fontainebleau to avoid Paris traffic as we had all the next day to get to CDG airport. The hotel was easy to find and in the same street as our car hire so that was certainly what we were looking for. It is conveniently placed in the town centre surrounded by cafes, restaurants and shops... More

Well located in the center of Fontainebleau, the hotel napoleon has a fairly good and genuinely helpful staff. However that it is. I was put in a remote room that I had to access thru the hotel courtyard, and go up a tiny elevator, the room was smaller than the average, reminiscent of Parisian hotels, where every inch is worth... We stayed at The Napoleon Hotel for one night. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly and spoke excellent English. Hotel offers a discounted rate at the nearby secure underground parking (Parking Napoleon) and the hotel can add the charge to your final bill. The hotel is in a very good spot, only minutes from the Chateau and easy to... More

At about 40 miles south of Paris, the hotel has clean but modest rooms, an old bed (not great for those with back problems), with a complicated access to certain rooms through a labyrinth of corridors (and nobody to help carrying your bags neither on your way in nor on your way out). Small work station in the room and... More

We have just spent three nights at this beautiful old hotel with great ambience, a sense of history and a lovely courtyard. The reception staff were helpful and friendly. Our room overlooked the courtyard and we were able to sleep with the window open and all we could hear were the birds. There was plenty of light for reading too,... More

Historic hotel where they claim Napoleon once stayed! The restaurant is romantic and partially outside in the garden. This area once had housing for the horses. The breakfast was more than we expected for a French breakfast. It included juice, American coffee, rolls, cereals sausage, cold meats, cheese and fresh and canned fruits. The rooms were the usual small ones... More
