This hotel more than lived up to our expectations - especially for the price. Staff really went out of their way to look after us and suggest where to go/where to eat etc. Buffet breakfast was a treat (especially as staff didn't clear it away until well past 11am & didn't make us feel rushed, even then), with a lot... This hotel is very conveniently located, directly next to Chateau de Fontainebnleau. There is underground parking, just across the street and a decent breakfast buffet. Our room was a nice size and the rate was reasonable.

If Fontainebleu was a "Chateau," I will eat my hat! Whatever...I needed a rest after merely scratching the surface of this royal residence, and remembered what I had seen on the way into town - the Hotel Aigle Noir. So, I wandered back there and took in what I considered to be a charmingly furnished lobby and terrace. Furnished in... More

This hotel is a treat. You can reach it via Bus 1 directly from the train station. It makes you feel royal with all its traditional interior features. A good place to explore the city centre and visit the chateau.

Fabulous hotel on the main square in Fontainbleau just opposite the Chateau. The hotel decor was very unique and done to a high standard with fabric covered walls throughout. The room was a good size and had kettle and fridge facilities as well as a safe in the room. Reception staff were incredibly helpful with recommendations and spoke exceptional English.... More

The good: Receptionist and her Le Caveau des Lys recommendation for food... A comfortable night. Great location. OK value. The not so good: No water-pressure even on the second floor. Expensive breakfast. Well worn naff furniture.

Our young children loved the very large suite with a long corridor and separated rooms. We parents enjoyed the sun filled room overlooking chateau fontainbleau. The cozy lounge with real fire and honesty bar and the generous buffet breakfast were appreciated. Friendly service and a midweek discount were on offer. With a large outdoor restaurant area at the entrance and... More

Stayed at this hotel with my partner and Daughter 11 over Easter 2012, we stayed 2 nights B&B. From the moment we were dropped off outside the hotel we knew it would be special, the Decor is in keeping with the chateau across the road, the Breakfasts were to die for and the service was excellent, they had an honesty... We loved this beautiful old-world European hotel. It's location is excellent right across from the Chateau Fontainebleau and right around the corner from many restaurants and shops. We were travelling with our two children. Our room was great. I believe it might have been called a family room. We had two separate rooms in one, with plenty of space. The... More

I stayed here whilst on a week's course at INSEAD. What a lovely hotel. Imposing from the outside, and charming inside. Very friendly, courteous, professional staff who couldn't do enough to help (and great english!) Large bedrooms and ensuite. Comfy bed and really quite - very relaxing. Highly recommend, although remember still French so no large array of TV channels... More
