Beautiful hotel + excellent room + great staff + wonderful location + interesting part of France = Fabulous holiday. My husband and I spent 5 wonderfully relaxing days in this hotel and would certainly recommend it. Room was great size and had a peaceful and comfortable nights sleep. Located right opposite the Diane gardens at the chateau. Beautiful gardens in... More

The location of this hotel couldn’t be better for visiting the Chateau de Fontainebleau which is located opposite the hotel. I stayed in room 201 which was at the back of the hotel and while it didn’t have a view of the chateau it did have a pleasant outlook over the rooftops of the surrounding buildings and was very quiet.... Really easy to find right opposite one of the entrances to the chateau and although there isn't on site parking, they do offer discounted parking really close by and this cost gets added to your bill at 12 euros per 24 hours. The car park is really secure and plays classical music and has lights that tell you which spaces... More

We stopped at the Aigle Noir en route to a holiday on the French Atlantic Coast and were very pleased with our choice. We are a family of four, with two young children, but booked only a smaller room since we were only staying one night and figured we could squeeze into two beds and save a bit of cash.... More

Lovely overnighter en route to the alps (having had to take an alternative route to avoid the problems at Calais). Right in the heart of Fontainbleau, with many restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. Wonderful reception staff who could not have been more friendly and welcoming, all speaking excellent English. Room was a good size and with an Espresso... More

Surprise! A festival mandated "no autos allowed downtown" the day we arrived! Yet the staff came to us and carried our bags from down the street, then directed us to proper parking. And then found us a scrumptious restaurant reservation on this holiday, and then listened to our poor francais patiently! The breakfast buffet was truly a full buffet, with... More

The hotel could not be more conveniently situated right opposite the famous chateau. The hotel oozed quality in every respect. Reception staff were helpful and charming. The breakfast choice was superb. The rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. This is one of the best hotels I have ever reserved. Incomparable!!

We spent two nights at this lovely hotel. We were warmly greeted upon arrival. Our room was decorated just as you might expect a French hotel to be, with the added bonus of a very large flat screen tv (however with all channels in French). The underground car park is just across the street (extra charge) and the grounds to... More

We stayed here on the 28th July for 2 nights. This is a lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. A special mention for the breakfast - excellent. It's location is also brilliant - so many good restaurants nearby and a wonderful chateau to visit..(We tried Bistro 9 & Les Bouchons - both very good) Also, if you want to... More
