We spent at Le Sauvage only two nights. But we will go back there as soon as possible. First, the location is perfect, close to the centre and still away from the noise, second: the old convent is charming and tastefully decorated, third: the staff is very friendly and helpful. We had a room on the ground floor with the... More

If you ever wanted clean, comfortable surroundings with the friendliest staff I have ever come across in my years of working in France, this is the place. Only downside for me was lack of a full bar / evening restaurant (although food was available, so you wouldn't go starving). My guess is the rooms will become stuffy during summer (no... More

We did some research before choosing Hotel Le Sauvage and all I can say is make sure you stay here. The staff were absolutely fantastic and nothing was a problem. They upgraded us to a suite room which was huge and had lovely views over the city. The entire hotel was a former convent - which is evident as soon... More

Beautiful boutique hotel in a converted chapel/monastery. Converted in 2011, it stands at the top end of the old town half way up to the citadel. It stands in its own gardens which I imagine will be beautiful in summer. The outside is not "finished" on the garden side as they are waiting for planning permission for a pool and... More

The location was spot on - right by the Citadel and 5 mins walk to the city. Secure parking, polite staff and a well restored historic building. Very calm - slept very well. Having drinks on the terrace watching the sun set - wonderful

Former monastery - modernized but still with a bit mysterious atmosphere. Room really nice, wonderful, stylish bathroom. This is definitely the hotel with character! One minus is breakfast - really small: just ham, jam, cheese, bread, eggs.

Found this by accident. Newly refurbished to a first class standard, beautiful rooms and dog friendly. Would go again and recommend. Staff were helpful, large secure car park at the rear, a welcome break to our wet and cold trip to France!

We found this hotel by chance while looking for a hotel rather late in the day on our way to the Alps, and couldn't believe what we'd found! The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was beautiful, the breakfast was good and the price was very reasonable. The setting for the hotel is a former convent, and has... More

This hotel is in a nice park, on top of the hills, close to the old city, citadelle etc. Once you enter the old monastery you can feel a calm, relaxing atmosphere.we got room#8, has no window but a door that opens toward a nice patio. The room is modern, behind thick walls and the bathroom is a dream...some people... More
