I've been on July 8th in Besançon for a night attending a business meeting the morning after. A first positive point is that is situated just in front of Besançon Viotte TGV train station. Walking to the City Centre take between 10 – 15 minutes. Even though the exterior looks quite dull (never stayed before to an Etap hotel) the interior is very proper even though still basic. The lady from the front desk was friendly enough. The rooms can accommodate up to three persons and have a TV, free Internet access (decent speed) and a proper bathroom. Everything was clean and tidy even though modest in accessories. The price for the room including breakfast was just 50 euros so for such short stay this leads to a decent quality-to-price ratio. Breakfast is a typically French, centred on sweets and being simple yet fresh and tasty. I strongly recommend the hotel for business related and generally short stays in Besançon. more
