Considering there is not a big variety of hotels in Bastia we chose Hotel Central based on tripadvisor reviews. We felt that EUR 150 are overpriced for this tiny room without air condition. Unfortunately, there are not that many alternatives in Bastia.

This hotel is very centrally located in Bastia - just a very short walk from the main square / Place Saint Nicolas. Some traffic in adjacent roads, but we didn't experience traffic noise as a problem at night. Located in an old six story building the hotel uses only the 1st and 2nd floor. Other floors are apartments (I think).... More

Could not be better located, 1 block from the main square yet quiet at night; no sea views (balcony with view on semi-quiet street with interesting street life, though). Room was average size, charmingly decorated in a bit of a "shabby chic" style, building and room had lovely period details (wonderful central staircase, pretty breakfast room and small garden in... Central convenience of this hotel is ideal, within easy walking of all local amenities, local transport and shops. However the rather dated presentation of this old style venue is a bit of a problem in some ways. The traditional décor is interesting, but quite dreary and drab - some may say quaint, but for others not comfortable enough in up... More

the first night I spent in Corsica was in this hotel - that being said, the thing to do in Corsica is definitely camping, not hotels. But this hotel was perfect for our arrival - centrally located (hence the name, although not actually in the most atmospheric part of Bastia, the citadel), professional staff, cute interior. they chilled the wine... Bastia is a lovely city, and Hotel Central is perfectly situated for exploring it. It is a large, old, atmospheric apartment building with a central staircase worn down by generations of footsteps. The floors are beautifully tiled. The building houses residential units as well as rooms for tourists. Traveling off-season, we were kindly upgraded to a suite, which was more... More

This place is very central and has a lovely old mansion feel to it. The floors are tiled and the rooms have balconies. Our room was fairly generous in size and although there is no air conditioning, the fan kept us cool even though we couldn't quite get used to the whirring noise. Breakfast and parking are not included. However... More

Charming hotel very centrally located. Some might not welcome the stairs -- no elevator. Wifi in the reception area, but not in our room. Friendly helpful reception. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip, and the first time we had a bigger room with no balcony; I preferred the smaller room with a small balcony over the... More

Great, calm. friendly service, clean and spacious rooms and excellent advice for anything from finding beaches, to restaurants, itinerary.... Only downside, no elevator. but then again, it's max 4 floors and it would be a pity to ruin that beautiful staircase with an elevator.

This hotel is easy to reach from the port or the bus station - a flat walk across Place Saint Nicolas and two blocks up the side street. The room was comfortable but not large. A small balcony overlooked the central garden and provided the only wi fi reception the room had. Some of the fittings e.g. the toilet were... More
