Not a bad place but nothing from the usual in small port cities. Room was small and smelled a bit as closed space, we simply solved by opening the windows. Recepcionist was helpful and nice, also spoke spanish which in our case helped. The best thing I would say is the location, it is located in the port area, in... More

We stopped here overnight on the start of our self guided cycle tour of northern Corsica in late July 2014. The hotel is located just outside of the town centre, which is good - a short walk brings you to the hustle and bustle, if that's what you want. We had our evening meal elsewhere in Bastia, so no comment... More

I would not usually bother reviewing a basic hotel where I have stayed for one night. However I would recommend this hotel for the friendliness of its owner and staff. We had a comfortable room with simple furnishing located at the back. Although there was not a balcony, the French windows opened fully and it was probably quieter than the rooms... More

We stayed here for one night as part of a self guided cycling trip. The hotel in a fairly busy street, and as others have commented its above an ice cream shop. Reception is up one flight of stairs, our room was up the next flight again. The service was friendly, breakfast traditional french and included fresh fruit. Bedroom was... More

Hotel Bonaparte is very close to city shops, the shipping port and the railway station in Bastia. The rooms are beautifully furnished, lovely tiled functional bathroom and a proper desk area and very good bed, numerous drawers and wardobe It doesn't have air conditioning. My room had a fair size balcony overlooking the very busy street. I was very impressed... More

The hotel was in a perfect location - being situated in a side street pretty close to the main square and a stine's throw from the ferry port. It was above a popular local ice cream place that give it a bit of a local feel. The room had a pleasant balcony, plenty of space- a separate sitting area. We... More

We were overnighting in Bastia. This was a low cost hotel booked by our party leader. It was adequate and conveniently palced near to port and town centre. Staff were friendly and continental breakfoast ok. Good for its purpose but would not be our choice for a longer visit.

This dreary, demoralizing, pathetic establishment is a perfect example of the irrelevance of the French starred hotel rating system. I won't belabor other reviewers' comments, except to agree with all the negative observations: bleak empty street entry, faux French nursing home decor, tiny dark claustrophobic room, toilet compartment only an olympic gymnast could negotiate without risk of bodily harm, indifferent... We used this hotel as a stopover straight from the ferry and it just about met expectations. Its location is probably the most appealing attribute. Its centrally located for the ferry, town and the old port. The rooms are basic and looked tired. The staff whilst not unfriendly were fairly abrupt. We were travelling with motocycles and secure parking was... More

Situated very close to the Bastia city center, and very close walking distance to the "Place St Nicolas" and a reasonable walk to the "Vieux Port", the location is certainly one of the major assets of this hotel. With the 23 rooms and 2 suites the hotel is in fact smaller as it looks at the outside. The major part... More
