the Chateau Cagninacci is actually a former convent turned private estate a 100 years ago (and in the same family ever since), it has amazing views over the sea, and is within walking distance of San Martin di Lota where you can find 2 very good restaurants.
The B&B has 4 rooms, we had one with sea view. The rooms are quite simple, but all with en-suite bath/showers. Breakfasts are huge, lots of fresh bread, lovely jam and a huge pot of tea/coffee/chocolate. The owners are an old lady and her 2 children, lovely people, quite happy to direct you and recommend places to visit / eat. All for roughly €90 a night in September.
You will need a car to get there, as with everything in Corsica, and the roads in the Cap Corse can be nerves-breaking, but it is well worth it.
My boyfriend and I started our tour of Corsica there and it was a perfect introduction to Corsica!
