This older hotel is being renovated and presents a greatly improved picture from our last stay there. The bathrooms are superb: clean, bright, modern and efficient. The rooms are also in great shape, and getting better. The hotel bar is comfortable and cozy. The dining room is simply fabulous, not just because of its decor but in particular because of... more

Just stayed for one night at the Royal again. I have stayed a couple of times before and use it as a stop over when travelling through France. Is centrally located and easy to find (follow signs for the Tourist Office / Gare SNCF / Royal) that are posted from a couple of miles from the centre. There is parking... more

Location The Royal in Troyes is located just beside the railway station and just a minute or so from the historic medieval quarter. Due to a combination of some temporary roadworks and the odd way that France has of sometimes suddenly dropping signs to the station/hotels at a major junction having signed for the previous two or three, we did... more

We ended up here by accident! Our Landrover broke down as we were heading south and we were stuck in Troyes for two nights! I had remembered this hotel from a recommedation from a friend so looked it up on my satnav and drove straight there! One small twin room left, immaculately clean, a bit drab but who can complain!... more

The Royal is a lovely hotel, with friendly and helpful staff. You must eat dinner there - the food was awesome and very good value. Highly highly recommended. more

We stayed at Le Royal in Troyes for one night in May at 77 Euro for 2 excl breakfast. Public parking – limited spaces right opposite hotel but a large parking area in close proximity. We had a little difficulty finding the hotel by car – we’d suggest bringing a map. The room, itself although spacious and clean, is drab... more

What a delightful hotel! In a perfect site to visit the old town of Troyes. Public parking - very reasonable charges - right in front of the entrance. We had the opportunity to meet the proprietors, a charming couple, who made us very welcome. The rooms seem to have been recently rehabilitated and are spotless and extremely comfortable. The restaurant... more

Following an accident involving the need for hospital treatment, we had to stay at the hotel without any booking or firm arrangements. The staff were most sympathetic and helpful in everyway, even offering to block the room until our plans were clearer. Near to station, tourist office and lovely old town. Pay by hour parking opposite. Room small but comfortable... more

Very well placed for seeing the old town of Troyes. Next door to tourist office. Staff very friendly. Large rooms, with recently modernised en suite bath/ shower rooms, some with whirlpool. The food is excellent and imaginative, using fresh produce. They do not have parking but you can park opposite hotel. more

We stayed here for one night enroute to Lyon and it was a pleasant and comfortable hotel. There's no hotel car park but you can park on the opposite side of the street (on-street pay-and-display). The hotel room was compact but had the usual amenities; the bathroom was relatively large in comparison with a very good shower. It's a short... more
