We only stayed one night as we were making our way to Switzerland but for this the hotel was perfect. The rooms are small but have everything you need. The bathroom was modern but the shower a little small. It is only a short walk to the town, where you will find medieval buildings and lots of restaurants. Breakfast was... More

The hotel was the worst on our holiday. The dining room is lovely a shame our waiter had no charm whatsoever. The hall had a funny smell maybe cigarettes. The bar was not open if you wanted a drink you had to ask reception to go fetch one. After hanging around for ten or so minutes we decided to go outside... More

Only a short walk to Township of old Troyes. The room we stayed in was recently renovated, and lovely but quite small. Parking available across the street but you have to remember pay at the ticket machine each day. We weren't asked if we would like breakfast. There is a little supermarket close by for basic essentials like bottled water... More

Large room and bed accross the street from the city center. Staff was very friendly and reliable. The room is not sterilised like a chain hotel can be but it is clean and neat. I recommand it is just 2min from the station

The Royal is conveniently located and reasonably priced for visiting Troyes. The rooms were clean, the Reception Staff efficient and pleasant. A well located hotel for visiting the medieval city and and close to many lovely restaurants. I would stay there again.

Used this hotel for a stopover en-route to the South of France. Great communication with the hotel from booking to arrival. Rooms and bathrooms are clean, but dated. We have fire alarm at about midnight... (Could smell cigarette smoke in the hall). Can't blame the hotel for that! The bathroom/showers were basic and in one of our two rooms barely... More

The Royal is not a destination hotel but convenient and reasonably priced for visiting Troyes. It was clean , efficient and pleasant but with minimum public rooms. Troyes is a fantastic and much underrated medieval city 4 hours from Calais and full of lovely restaurants, food and museums, especially the Modern Art Museum.- great for a break by car from... Troyes is a stunning town and a great stop off point for Brits returning to Blighty after a holiday. Not only is the town beautiful but if you need to sort our your wardrobe you've got all the factory outlet stores as well. So we checked in on our way back this summer. The last time we were there was... More

Just looking for a night-stop en route from Calais to Lyon and chose Troyes because we saw a photo of the half-timbered houses*. We picked Le Royal for its prices and proximity to town, which was a very easy walk. Actually it was great - very clean rooms albeit small, a friendly receptionist and a delicious buffet breakfast for an... More

The first clue is the whiff of stagnant cigarette smoke in the lobby that takes away something of the charm of the old fashioned but not inelegant restaurant adjacent to it. We should have refused to accept Room 409 as soon as we heard the first component part of the plumbing noise symphony that persisted through the night. There seems... More
