I stayed in Hotel Rabelais in October 2014 and really enjoyed my stay. The room was large and clean with a nice bathroom. Parking was on street but easy and the centre of Old Tours is within a 15 min stroll. Breakfast was very good with a good choice of foods, very much appreciated as France is not well known... More

We spent one night here in September 2014. Having booked we were at little apprehensive on first arrival, the hotel albeit very attractive was in a student area and given the low price we felt it might be aimed more at the young backpacker crowd (we are 50+). However we were pleasantly surprised. Even though the hotel is on quite... More

My wife and I had to visit Tours on a combined busienss/sightseeing trip. We came across the Hotel Rabelais and found it an excellent place to stay. The rooms were large, clean and very quiet due to the excellent glass in the windows providing sound proofing. The bathroom was spacious and well equipped and very clean! The staff were all... More

Stayed 2 nights - we were given a choice of staying in the older part of the hotel or the newer annexe out the back. As there was no lift, we chose the annexe and were not disappointed. The room was very spacious and had a lovely big modern bathroom (ideal for those with disabilities). Staff were extremely friendly and... More

close to the town centre, parking in front of hotel, bus stops 50m. very cozy inside, big bathroom..very clean and with very nice furniture and decoration. we chose the hotel to have good start point to the town and to the region - excellent for this.

I stayed at the Rabelais for 5 nights and was really pleased I booked. The hotel is the antethesis of 'corporate'. I booked a room with an accessible bathroom and was given a big well decorated room with a fabulous bathroom in an annexe across an enclosed courtyard. My sister originally had a room in the main house but asked... More

The rooms were unique and comfortable. Hosts made arrangements for our late check in--thank you! As advertised, there is no elevator or air conditioning so we were not surprised by this. They had nice fans in the room which made the temperature comfortable for our August stay.

With any town centre hotel there is always some difficulty driving round to find it especially when there is a lot of traffic and one-way streets. Once found, parking is across the street and we had no difficulty. On Sundays there is however a street market and cars would have to be moved. This is a very French hotel but... More

Great find in good location, very difficult booking online sight unseen but we were lucky again with this one. Owner was really nice on arrival and girl at breakfast was just as good. The whole hotel is very tasteful....owner has a nice touch. Room and bathroom nice and also very clean. Only possible downside for others is the stairs, we... More

We stayed five nights and were quite satisfied. Good location friendly owner and very good service and priced well. About 15 minutes to centre of town and the old center with many restaurants. The hotel was very clean; the breakfast was the normal french fair. On street free parking was not an issue. The windows opened for fresh air. The... More
