This hotel is located right in the center or Tours. It is a block or two from the main shopping streets, restaurants and the railway station. The lobby looks a little old fashioned but the room was very modern and nice. They told me that all their rooms were renovated two years ago. I was in a suite facing the... More

Tours is a lovely City and the Hotel is in an ideal location being close to the Station, easy to get to from the Motorway, and with private parking. An easy walk to the river and to the old part of the City, also with tram running close by.

This hotel is a traditional one from the early 20th century, and close to the train station and the significant public spaces and buildings of Tours. The rooms have been completely renovated in a funky and innovative way, which presents as a surprising contrast to the front foyer and lobby of the hotel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with... More

When you walk into the lobby you think - oh god again one of those run down wannabe four stars. The lobby radiates a sense of the golden eighties but hasn't been renovated since. The room however was a pleasant surprise. Recently renovated and nicely done and clean.

The staff were all very friendly. I speak French but they spoke very good English. The hotel is in a beautiful building that is a 3 minute walk from the train station. The concierge told us where to find good restaurants and suggested we go to a summer outdoor bar on the bank of the Loire river. It was delightful!... More

Well placed to look around the town. Very friendly and helpful stall with a super breakfast wide choice of items but not to sure about the tea. The rooms are very modern with nice touches ( slippers bathrobes)

We spent four nights at L'Univers. We had a very comfortable, recently renovated junior suite with a huge shower, jacuzzi tub, and--in the middle of a record heatwave--the coldest airconditioning I've ever experienced in a European hotel! The staff is friendly, the breakfast buffet (about 12 euros) is delicious. It's also a five minute walk from the train station, from... More

We were expecting a rather grand looking hotel, going by its photo, but in fact it was rather ordinary. Our room was modern, bright with a good shower - choice of shower heads. The outlook was pretty dire, straight ahead a derelict building and a small concrete paved area. There was only one chair (there were two of us), no... More

The Hotel de l'Univers seems to be an old hotel being brought, rather abruptly, into the 21st century. The signs of refurbishment and reconstruction are everywhere -- rooms not quite finished, a lobby being painted, etc. That said, the result,s even though partial, are very encouraging. We certainly had a comfortable experience, enhanced by the hotel''s extremely convenient location next... More

Hotel is right in the center of town. Staff friendly and helpful. Free wifi, AC in the room, and a rather large room for a European hotel. Comfortable bed, flat screen tv, and really quiet! The bathroom shower had two heads - nice! Didn't try the breakfast - didn't want to pay for it. There is parking, but it can... More
