We decided to book here having found it through a chambre d'hote website; the communication from Eugenie our host before we arrived was great and she was there to meet us upon arrival. As per the other reviews here, the 500 year old house is a great place including the spiral stairs, eclectic furniture and exposed wooden beams. Our room on... More

We arrived on time and the owner was waiting for us. She had saved us a parking place into which we duly put our car. We found that we were to be accomodate in the room on the third floor. This involves a long climb up a quite steep, and very ancient, wooden spiral staircase. We were both puffing a... More

This chambre d'hôte has a few room placed on top of each other. The rooms are huge and are very personally decorated with equipment from old days. The breakfast was OK and we appreciated our stay in this house very much.

Our room was on the second floor of a 500 years old house. Accessed by a narrow spiral staircase, it was a very large room with beamed ceiling, numerous window with painted leaded glazing and internal shutters. The four-poster bed had a comfortable modern mattress. The en-suite shower room and separate WC were formed within the room itself. Altogether I... More

Really loved this converted workshop near the river. Very helpful and welcoming owner. Right in the middle of old Orleans. Lovely little garden with swing. Good breakfast. Although we arrived quite late as an overnight stop on the way south but we were able to eat at a restaurant just round the corner. Would really like to come again and... More

Our stay here was a delight, our room was very spacious & charming. Our hosts were very friendly & informative & you couldn't get closer to the centre of Orleans yet be in a lovely quiet spot. Many thanks for an enjoyable stay.

We only spent one night here, but it was a great experience. Our room was more like a suite and had tables, chairs and lots of room. All the decor was in keeping with its ancient heritage and had a massive wooden beam with a wolf's head carved into the woodwork. The owner was very friendly and made us a... More

A beautifully and tastefully refurbished old house! When we arrived we were truly amazed by this centrally situated ancient house, spotlessly clean, the room comprising of two levels (our four-year-old daughter exclaimed in delight "a princess room!"). In the morning our graceful host was awaiting with a delicious breakfast which included fresh croissants and French pastries to order, a selection... More

Of 2 rooms available at Les Trois Mallets, we stayed 1 night in #2 at the top: 1 double, 1 single bed + chaise downstairs, with 2 singles upstairs (watch out for low ceilings, especially front-facing dormer window!). Pleasantly surprising, with lots of unique touches in tastefully restored building from 1500s adding up to accommodation with a genuine quirky charm.... More

We stayed at the end of July - as a couple from Scotland. Overall an unforgettable experience. The beautiful building has been sensitively upgraded, preserving its unique Renaissance features. The rooms are huge and furnished with a quirky but charming eye for detail and use of space. The breakfast is wonderful, with fresh bread and pastries from just up the... More
