The owner of this hotel had only been there for four months. A very helpful and pleasant man who assisted us during our stay with some important translation from English to French. He appeared to show a genuine interest in his guests and was always helpful. The room was decent size and was on a side street of the building,... More

We hadn't planned to break our journey back home, but I decided after the outbound trip that I was too old to do the return in one go! so we were looking for a budget hotel and this looked a good option right in the middle of the city. Check-in was quick. The lift was small and slow, but that's... More

We stopped in Orleans for one night and found Le Grand Hotel very welcoming. It is located near the pedestrianised city centre, so was a good base for a quick visit. Parking isn't easy in the narrow streets, but the hotel has a discounted rate at the nearby Martroi underground car park, so park there and take the ticket to... More

I read a review on TA and decided to go there, having had the journey from hell and needing a place to unwind! The hotel was bought by the current owner 2 months ago, and he's gone out of his way to provide a friendly and helpful service, an excellent approach to growing a business! Next door is the equally... More

This Hotel, is clean and comfortable and is very well located to the rail station. The manager could not be more obliging with receiving our bicycles, in advance of our arrival and holding our additional luggage securely for our return at no additional cost. He even paid for some last minute postcards to Australia as we left the next morning. Our... More

Ted was very accommodating and helpful with bicycle delivery and other arrangements which we appreciated a lot. Hotel is in a great spot - between railway station and town square (with the Joan of Arc statue) - and is comfortable, clean and nice.

Staff very friendly and helpful, particularly the older gentleman on duty when I lost my car keys. I liked the easy access to the city. Breakfast could be better and was not worth 9 Euros per head. Plenty of good restaurants and bars. Exciting city centre atmosphere, beautiful architecture spectacular Cathedral and surrounding squares. All the major sites, including restaurants... More

We were en route from the Loire Valley to Chartres Cathedral so I booked this hotel as it was the only one with parking round the corner in the centre of the city (which is where we wanted to visit). Basic but clean; great location, friendly staff. Did not like the shabby look of the area where breakfast is served... More

I booked this hotel as a cheap stopover en route to the south of France. I must admit it was a pleasant surprise; the receptionist was helpful and forthcoming, giving relevant information without being asked. The room itself was a decent size (for myself and two children), not exactly huge but I didn't expect that for the cost! The bathroom... More

Stayed one night - paid 8 euro's for upgrade with bath. Well worth the effort to get a central hotel. Nice staff and better than usual continental breakfast. Very clean with triple glazing to soundproof from street. No car parking - but secure underground available 100 metre away @ 14 euros for 24 hours. City sights 3 minutes walk.
