We had an extraordinary and relaxing time here. It was the perfect combination of rustic and upscale....Genuine. The inn keepers were gracious and kind and gave us great recommendations on places to visit. You should definitely take advantage of their dinners. The food is amazing and it was so nice to relax, eat, drink, and not have to worry about... More

We enjoyed a wonderful welcome and incredible dining here...just one night was enough to feel like we had new friends. This place is evolving from the near ruin I hear it was a few years ago. With a few more touches to the garden all will be perfect! Unique to sleep with the sound of water cascading outside your window.... More

This is a wonderful location, whether for a stay on the Loire valley or as a stopover en route south or north. The welcome is genuine, the property charming, and John, Liam and Bernadette are the perfect hosts for a relaxed stay, including provision of wholesome evening meals if required. We had a great 4 days here, using it as... More

We like to break our journey North to the ferry and I don't think we'll ever want to stay anywhere else again but with John and Liam at the Moulin. And it must be a great place to stay for a few days. Loches is delightful and so much of the Loire/Cher valley is so close. The mill and garden... More

We spent 3 nights with John, aided by his family, at the Moulin St Jean and they were the highlight of our fortnight in France. The setting is fabulous and really peaceful. The atmosphere is laid back but the warmth of the welcome, the friendliness and service were outstanding. We ate there each night and enjoyed John's wonderful cooking and... More

What a lucky find to end up staying at the watermill at St Jean just outside Loches. Right from the start John and Liam his son, made us welcome. Rather than go out for dinner we were able to have a very pleasant evening by the river. We booked in for dinner with them the next night - wich we... More

We stayed at this gorgeous B & B for 2 nights and absolutely loved it! It is not only amazingly serene and beautiful but also perfectly located. This old watermill has a lot to offer, it is close to many main attractions and yet away from any noise and hustle and bustle of the streets. The rooms are very pretty,... More

This uniquely restored watermill was a great centrally located home-base for our stay in the Loire Valley. John and Bernadette were very welcoming and chatty. The breakfasts served each morning were very generous with a great selection of foods to enjoy. Our room was quite comfortable and spacious, as was the ensuite bathroom, but both could have had better lighting... More

If you want to explore the Loire Valley, then The Moulin St. Jean is the place to stay, we were there for six days and Villandry, Chaumont, Saumur and Chinon are all within easy driving distance. It has been tastefully restored, although a little more thought might have been given to the positioning of power sockets in our bathroom. This... More
