This is my second time to stay at Le Clos Rabelais, and I will return here again and again! The rooms are perfect, the beds are very comforable, and Shaun makes the visit all worthwhile! I look forward to my next visit!

I love staying here - Shaun is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. Plus, he's a great cook, so it you're too tired to go out and about, looking for dinner, it's worth having Shaun cook for you. He's amazing. And, the rooms are large and comfortable, and the B&B is located conveniently in the Loire Valley. This is a perfect place... More

Stayed at least 8 times and it never fails. Friendly and hospitable, often leading to making new friends from amongst the guests. Generous breakfast. Atmosphere is informal, hosts are attentive, helpful and at times downright amusing. If you are staying in a full house and feeling sociable a party may ensue! Location is good for sightseeing and of course bulk... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend and her family over Christmas 2013 and had a great time with Shaun and his friend John who ended up cooking and eating Christmas lunch with us. Everyone enjoyed Shaun's dogs Lottie and Oscar (taking them for a walk) and personally my girlfriend and my room (separate from the rest of the house) was... More

Really enjoyable stay at Le Clos Rabelais - great to meet and spend time with both Shaun and Patrick as well as other friendly guests (not forgetting Oscar and Lottie - the Springers). Room and bathroom were very clean and well appointed, comfortable public areas of the house too - loved the library and the dining room - with a... More

Just the ticket for a cycling stop at the pretty town of Langeais. Shaun was a welcoming and generous host with a drink on arrival and hearty breakfast to get us on our way. Good location for an overnight whilst cycling the Loire a Velo with lots of restaurants (albeit seasonal) and a rather nice castle thrown in.

We chose to stay here because of the locality and the fact that they offer an evening meal. We stayed in the family room at the end, this was spotlessly clean and plenty of room for myself husband and daughter. We were made to feel like part of the family and enjoyed the banter of Shaun and his guests! The... More

We arrived at le Clos Rabelais to be greeted by Shaun and Sue, We parked the car and were immediately offered a drinkie and as we were in France we just had to have a glass of wine, followed by another. Following that the Magnums were passed around, no not a magnum of wine, (although I am sure we drank... More

We laughed our bits off during a very warm, fun and welcome stay at Le Clos Rabelais. Sweet and witty Shaun and warm and friendly Sue were wonderful hosts we won't forget very fast. The room is nice and clean, pretty English. The breakfast good and drinking wine and talking with Shaun & Sue is simply unforgettable. Langeais is a... More

We were greeted by the owner, Shaun, who immediately made us feel at home. We had access to tea and coffee, beer and wine, cereal and fresh fruit any time we wanted. Our room was lovely (candy on the pillows) and white bathrobes waiting to warm us. We couldn't have been happier! His assistant was so wonderfully helpful too. We... More
