A beautiful place in a beautiful town. We loved this bed and breakfast and had the best of old and new. Lovely history & character in the buildings and grounds and a nice modern bathroom. Jean Michel and his wife were great hosts, the dog is very cute as well. The breakfast was large and well provisioned and Jean Michel... More

I stayed here 12-15 August with my niece and her friend. It was, simply put, wonderful. It looks even better than the photos, and the rooms and garden really are as lovely and tranquil as they seem. Jean-Michel is the perfect host, and his breakfasts are a great way to start the day. I have stayed in many places in... More

We stayed in the suite for three nights and every single aspect of Logis Saint Mexme was perfect. Jean Michel and his wife live in what looks like a small castle, with a large yard situated just minutes from the center of Chinon. Some notes: -Every morning breakfast was prepared for us (homemade yogurt, fruit, fresh baguettes, granola, cereal, coffee,... More

The B+B has two beautiful rooms, one a suite where we stayed (€90 incl breakfast) that overlooks the church from the balcony, with a beautiful lounge area, high ceilings, complete with CD player +extensive music collection. Perfect for a glass of wine or resting the legs after a cycle. Breakfast was lovely- croissants, fresh fruit, coffee etc. We found jean... More

We stayed at the Logis Saint Mexme for 2 days with our 7 year old daughter. The garden room where we were staying has a nice annex with an extra bed so she really felt like she had her "own" bedroom. Climbing up the old staircase felt like entering a medieval castle. The place just oozes history. The garden is... More

We can't praise this B &B enough! Everything was perfect!! The host and hostess were delightful and always accommodating and charming. We stayed in the suite which was totally equipped with everything one could need plus you have the added plus of being in a historical setting. Jean Michel, our host, was most kind and could not have been more helpful. He loaned us his bikes both days and had excellent maps and tips for us on biking in the countryside. Our room was large and breakfast served in a lovely garden room was ample and delicious. There is a large outside garden area to relax in after... More

This lovely bed and breakfast (2 rooms) is the restored home of the monk in charge of a 1400's monastery. Behind a door in a garden wall on a narrow street is a lovely garden and a very nicely restored historic home. After climbing the wide stairs up a turret, our room turned out to be a suite. The large... More

You might be suspicious when you see almost all the reviews are excellent but don't be. The location on a quiet street near many nice restaurants is excellent. The room we rented for three nights was very large, with a separate sitting area and sleeping area was very comfortable. The old Abbey has been lovingly restored and the hosts Jean... More
